Chapter 19 Making Things Easy
Clarissa finally figured it out. Joseph Moore’s request to follow her on Instagram prior was not a coincidence. He was not a scammer either. It was the rich man’s son that her brother had mentioned before.
In fact, Joseph was a polite and talented person. Clarissa admired him.
Introducing him to her might have been her brother’s one-sided wish.
Clarissa smiled and said, “Asking you questions about economic law will be more convenient in the future, Mr. Moore.”
“That’s right. In a few days, I’ll prepare some practice papers for you. Economic law is the easiest paper. You can pass by simply memorizing everything. As long as you’re willing to put in the effort, nothing will be a problem,” Joseph replied while adding remarks to Clarissa’s contact. Her name was saved as “Bunny In A Flower” in his contacts.
“Clarissa, we haven’t celebrated your success in landing a permanent position at New East Corporation! I heard their standards were very high. My sister is truly outstanding.”
Luke seized this opportunity to praise Clarissa. He was very scheming. Basically, he was trying to leave a good impression on Joseph so that he could “sell” her for a good price in the future.
“That’s right.”
Clarissa did not want to talk to him. After answering, she turned her head toward the window.
Joseph did not continue the conversation either, making Luke feel awkward.
When they arrived at the dormitory, Clarissa got out of the car. As she walked, she looked at her phone. The people around her behaved like mice that had seen a cat. They quickly avoided her. Maybe they had acknowledged Clarissa as Damien’s woman. It was possible that she would become their boss’s future wife. Hence, no one dared to offend her.
Before opening the door to her unit, she received a message from Damien.
[ We’re going to my grandpa’s house at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. I’ll pick you up from your dorm. ]
Clarissa’s heart thumped. She did not expect to be able to see Damien again so quickly.
Once she turned off her phone, she started packing her luggage.
“Clarissa, are you dating President Lawrence?” Lily suddenly approached Clarissa from the side. She lowered her voice and winked, trying to start gossiping.
Clarissa hesitated for a moment.
“No, I’m not.”
However, since Lily was her best friend, she gave a truthful answer,
“We just… Had sex before.”
“Tsk…” Lily sucked in her breath. “I couldn’t tell at all. You’re so ruthless! You took him down right away.”
“No. It was completely unexpected.”
It was unexpected for Clarissa, but Damien thought she had done it intentionally.
“What’s the relationship between you two now?”
“Just… Like that. By the way, I won’t be around tomorrow night. I’m heading out.”
“To where? Are you going to spend the night with President Lawrence?”
“No… There are other things…”
“Tsk, you said you weren’t in a relationship with him.”
“I’m really not.”
Clarissa thought about it. She felt they had not met for a long time.
Damien had saved her from being the center of attention before. Despite that, she did not think they were dating. A couple would have countless things to talk about. That was not the case for them. Whenever they were together, there was only silence.
“Alright, stop being shy. I know the company doesn’t allow office romance. Don’t worry. I’ll keep it a secret. Just promote me to director in the public relations department when you become the president’s wife.”
Lily’s wish was quite extreme.
