Love in Twilight novel (Clarissa and Damien) novel Chapter 200

Chapter 200 His Favorite Tofu Dumplings

Vanessa didn’t say a word when she heard this, and just ate in silence. Even so. Clarissa

could see that she was filled with sadness.

After dinner, Clarissa had Mrs. Faber bring up the food to Damien. Meanwhile, she accompanied Vanessa to the supermarket.

“Damien used to eat tofu dumplings every New Year. He doesn’t eat them now. Maybe he doesn’t want to see us anymore,” Vanessa said dejectedly.

“Mom, don’t be sad! I’m still here.” Clarissa took Vanessa’s arm and hugged it tight.

“You’re really a good girl, Clary. If only I had a daughter your age.” Vanessa patted Clarissa’s head fondly.

Damien was unhappy with his parents’ return, but Clarissa was his exact opposite. She suddenly had so many family members, and all of them called her Clary.

It was drizzling when they left the supermarket. Fortunately, Clarissa had a habit of taking an umbrella with her whenever she went.

She took a taxi with Vanessa.

When they arrived home, they saw Damien standing in front of the house. He had his hands in his pockets, and was dressed in thin clothes. He was pacing back and forth without an umbrella, as he hated them.

Clarissa got out of the car quickly, and scooted over to put the umbrella over Damien’s head.

She said somewhat anxiously, “Why didn’t you take the umbrella? You have a cold!”

“Let’s go,” Damien said, taking Clarissa’s hand.

Vanessa stood behind and looked at the couple in front of her. She carried the things with her as she watched them in silence, feeling sad and awkward.

When Clarissa and Damien approached the living room, Clarissa heard some noise.

“Who’s there?” she asked Damien.

“People who don’t matter,” Damien said, clutching Clarissa’s hand tightly. When they came to the living room, Clarissa saw Joseph and Frank on the couch, with Patrick taking the other side.

Frank stood up and greeted Damien respectfully. “President Lawrence.”

Damien merely answered with a cold hum.

“We haven’t had a chance to talk to you yet. Joseph will be handing over Great West Accounting Firm to Rebecca and leave the country around the end of the year,” Frank

announced.

“Did you come here just to talk about this? I thought you were going to talk about Universal Real Estate.” Damien kept staring at Joseph with a glare of daggers.

Frank paled at once. “O-Oh. Yes, we were talking about Universal Real Estate. We also thought of bringing up Joseph’s work.”

Joseph’s eyes were fixated on only Clarissa. With a smile, he asked, “You’re back?”

Damien pulled Clarissa upstairs before she could even reply with a yes.

“I wasn’t able to meet you and stay by your side during your hardest time,” Clarissa said in the darkness, her tone soft and genuine.

“Don’t you know? You’ve been there.”

Clarissa thought about it and asked tentatively, “Is this about the time I helped you with the water when you lost your sight?” She was asking this to test him. She thought Damien still didn’t know, but after a few observations, it seemed Damien had found out everything.

It was as if he was looking at Clarissa from above, like a god in the sky.

“Yes.” Damien held Clarissa tightly.

Clarissa dropped her head and smiled. “You love tofu dumplings. Why have you never told me that?”

“Will you make them?”

“I’m good at it.”

“If you’re going to make them for me, make them for me forever. I don’t want something halfway done,” Damien said.

Clarissa thought about it for a long time, and finally nodded solemnly. What did Damien mean by this? Would they stay married and never divorce?

“How about I make some for you tomorrow, and for the rest of your life?” Clarissa asked.

“No lies.”

Clarissa promised, “Okay. If I lie, my nose will grow.” She had learned this metaphor from Damien, after all.
