Love in Twilight novel (Clarissa and Damien) novel Chapter 205

Chapter 205 Did Damien Sign? Damien glanced at Clarissa before picking up his phone. As he dialed Luke‘s number, his eyes didn‘t leave her.

Clarissa thought, ‘Looks like Damien‘s going to pay for this one. He might even pay more just to shut Madelynn up. But that‘ll just make Luke greedier!‘ The call connected, and Damien put it on speakerphone.

“Damien!” Luke greeted. When Clarissa heard Luke‘s voice, she could already imagine his flattering face.

“You‘re getting engaged?”

“Yeah! I mean, yes. Did Clarissa tell you about it?” Luke asked.

“Yes. What does Emily want?”

“She wants five hundred thousand dollars as security, and...”

“I‘ll give you eight hundred thousand dollars. What else?” Damien asked.

“The house should be under our names. I know it‘s too much for you, Damien. I feel bad...”

“We‘ll get the paperwork done tomorrow.” After saying that, Damien hung up immediately.

It seemed Luke really did demand five hundred thousand dollars from Clarissa‘s family. Clarissa didn‘t lie to him.

It was true that Madelynn wasn‘t afraid of anything. Damien tried to hurt Madelynn‘s pride, so the latter would eventually fall out with Connie.

Clarissa expected Damien not to sign, but she never thought he would even pay for Luke‘s demands. Not only that, but he was also very generous. He even added three hundred thousand dollars for Luke.

He probably wanted to use this chance to show his stance to Madelynn. Damien couldn‘t care less who Luke was getting engaged to. Clarissa, however, felt that his move was intended to touch her.

“S–So that‘s it! Well, in that case, I‘ll be off.” Madelynn ran away in defeat with her tail between her legs.

Damien ripped the divorce paper to pieces, staring at Clarissa the whole time.

“Is marriage a game to you?” he demanded.

“No! That‘s not what happened.” Clarissa finally had the chance to talk. She had to make sure Damien wouldn‘t call the police before she told him about the incident with Connie. After all, Connie was the one who forced Clarissa to sign the divorce paper.

didn‘t even join the meal with them.

Vanessa returned to her room alone, feeling sad. Patrick was angry at Damien as well, but he knew he had no right to be angry. All he could do was comfort his wife.

When Madelynn got in the car, Connie asked, “Did Damien sign it?”

Slap! A loud slap sounded as Madelynn hurled her palm across Connie‘s face. She hissed, “Did you know that Luke‘s getting engaged?!” “Luke‘s getting engaged? I...I didn‘t know.” Connie looked confused. “You don‘t know. You know nothing! What else do you know other than saying I don‘t know? Maybe Clarissa didn‘t know how she‘s going to ask Damien for money. Great! We ended up helping her! If you want to work with me, do it properly! If not, get lost!” Madelynn snapped.

Connie had never received so much scolding. It was mortifying! It seemed she wouldn‘t be able to turn her life around unless Clarissa was dead.

They had been well–prepared this time. Connie made her preparations in advance, and told her mother about Peter‘s leg and atrophy. She had her mother pass the message to Theresa, for they knew Theresa would talk to Clarissa about it.

As a result, Clarissa would become soft–hearted and forgive Connie. After all, Clarissa had always listened to Theresa.

They got Clarissa‘s signed divorce paper in advance to let Damien see that his little wife wanted to divorce him. With Damien stewing in fury, Clarissa wouldn‘t have a chance to utter even a word.

Alas, they didn‘t expect the sudden turn of events. Luke‘s engagement had helped Clarissa to clear her name easily.
