“Um… I don’t want to buy the ones built by the university. This house is big enough for me to live alone. It’s convenient to live on campus.” Clarissa lowered her head. She didn’t tell Damien about her plans to buy a house in Ashland.
That she still missed her daughter meant she still missed what she used to have with Damien.
“You’re really not going to buy a house?”
“Really.”
“Then where will I live when I’m here?”
Clarissa angled her head to glare at him. “You’re thinking too far.”
She never had any plans to let him live here.
“Anyway, have you found anything about the things I asked you to look into?” Clarissa asked.
Even if Damien was well-connected, she supposed he wouldn’t be able to get any results so quickly. She purposely asked him this to keep him from talking about sleeping and living together.
“How can I get results so quickly?” Damien shot back.
It wasn’t because he couldn’t get any information that he didn’t investigate. Rather, he didn’t want to know about her private life. Back then, he felt so weary when he found that her father had given him his cornea, and that she wasn’t the man’s biological daughter.
Actually, he didn’t need to know who she was. All Clarissa needed to be was herself.
“Then you have to keep your word,” Clarissa said.
Damien gave a light chuckle. Dishonestly, he said, “Of course.”
“Where are you staying tonight?” Clarissa asked, feeling a bit worried.
“Grandpa’s.”
Only then did Clarissa let out a long breath. She was a little scared of him and his wild nature in bed.
Damien was nearly done arranging the boxes in the house. He brushed off her hands and went to the bathroom to wash them. At that moment, his phone rang.
He glanced at it, only to see that Chanel was calling.
He frowned immediately.
“Hello,” he said.
