When they woke up the next day, it was already past ten o’ clock. The two went to have breakfast together in the university canteen.
The students were all in class during this hour, so the canteen was quite empty.
As they ate, Clarissa looked up to greet a teacher approaching them.
“Miss Carroll, have you eaten?” Clarissa asked.
Miss Carroll used to be Clarissa’s instructor.
“Yes. I’ve been busy doing the records for our intake students ten years ago. They want to plan a ten-year anniversary of their entrance to university. The class representative wanted to wait another three years to do a graduation anniversary, but the others couldn’t wait. They got me to compile the data. I won’t have to do much for you since you’re a graduate, Clarissa, but you’re now teaching here. Has the university given you any graduate students yet?” Miss Carroll asked, holding a paper in her hands.
Clarissa had heard about this event. Since she was at the university, she didn’t keep in much contact with her old classmates who were spread out all over. Besides, the recent happenings regarding Damien’s marriage had been distracting her.
“Not yet. It might take some time, I think.”
Seeing Damien next to Clarissa, Miss Carroll asked, “And this is…?”
“This is my boss. He just so happened to be here to discuss work with me,” Clarissa said seriously.
Damien was speechless.
“Let me see how my ex-classmates are doing.” Clarissa took the paper from Miss Carroll.
The paper listed the classmates’ names, phone numbers, and addresses, as well as their current workplaces and positions.
Those who were attending the reunion were undoubtedly those who had found success in life. Those who weren’t successful didn’t attend.
Clarissa had also attended one of Damien’s reunions before. As such, she wasn’t very interested.
