Chapter 264: Hit Me If You Can
Looking at Hailey. Doris said, “I know that Owen still falls for you. And so do you. I don’t know much of a
relationship, but what don’t you give him a chance as you two still have feelings for each other?” Doris knew
little about romance. In her opinion, a couple should be together when they had feelings for each other. And
they were supposed to break up when their affections faded. Doris joined the army at a young age and she
knew she would die at any time. Except for the responsibility she should take, she would try everything she
could to enjoy life. All that she wanted was to follow her heart and do whatever she preferred. However, Hailey didn’t fully agree on the thought of Doris. She chuckled, “You have never tasted the bitterness
of love. When you fall in love with someone, you will get to know it that it’s not black or white in the world of
love. The couple could enjoy a colorful life if they’re lucky enough. And they would have to endure a bleak life if
not.” Not a woman would leave if she wasn’t badly hurt. So was Hailey. She wouldn’t have divorced Owen to end
their relationship. As for her, when Owen asked for a divorce in front of her face, and she signed her name on
– the divorce paper, her affections for him in the past ten years had gone. And so had the previous Hailey.
Doris mulled over it. “I can’t get it for the time being, but I won’t persuade you into accepting my thought since !
don’t experience what you did. I’m sorry for what I said just now, and you can just forget it. I won’t mention it
anymore.” Doris proposed a toast to show her apology. Hailey clinked the glass of Doris with a smile, “I’ll let it
go.” Outside the restaurant, Jared was so black, “Haven’t they finished yet?” Jared couldn’t stand it anymore
and wanted to get off the car, but Owen grabbed him on his wrist. “Hey.” Turning back, Jared cast a cold glance
at Owen, “Let go of me.” Jared didn’t change his attitude towards Owen, though they were watching Hailey and
Doris through the window in the car for quite a while. That the two of them were together wasn’t a coincidence.
It was Owen who went to Jared for cooperation, since they two had the same goal that Hailey and Doris
shouldn’t always stay together.
It had been a few days that Hailey and Doris spent time together, which made Owen and Jared have no chance
to run their plans. For men, their biggest rivals might be the bosom friends of the girls they had a thing for.
Bosom friends spent time together, chatting or doing whatever they wanted, and they didn’t even want
boyfriends. This was the last thing Jared and Owen wanted to see, so they were killing themselves separating
Hailey and Doris. North City was Owens town after all, so he could easily locate Hailey and Doris. Otherwise, Jared wouldn’t have
promised to work with him. It was like a huge humiliation to Jared, though he had been going through
embarrassing moments that he had never experienced in his life before these days. After he announced the
identity of Doris, his wife-to-be, Brook and Hailey soon sold him out. The two of them exposed that Jared had a
thing for Doris in the chat group of their families. Brook: (Congratulations Jared, you’ve finally found the girl you love.
Kyle: What? Who is that girl?!
Hailey: (
