Chapter 193
Who t
the heck are you?
Someone who didn’t know about wine, but they thought the boy who had just burst in was way too cocky People were trying to enjoy their dinner in peace, and this guy just storms in?
Yates, a mischievous glint in his eyes, casually draped an arm over Cordelia’s chair, clad in his school uniform and said, “I own the place.”
The guy didn’t know squat about high society, and he laughed out loud at that, “Being the owner’s a big deal, huh? How much dough does this joint rake in a month? You think you’re bigger than Jungler?”
The others, equally clueless, joined in the laughter.
Only Logan stared at the bottle of wine Yates had brought to the table, zoning out.
That bottle… he had just seen it on the menu! He might not know wine from vinegar, but he knew the price all right–eight hundred grand a bottle!
He had only hit the big time in the past couple of years, and his income had just started to hit a million a month. He’d always thought he was pretty hot stuff, but now… he swallowed hard.
When he first glanced at the drink list, he thought to himself, who in their right mind would spend on booze that expensive? Now, looking at the newcomer with the red hair….
–
Sure, the guy was wearing a school uniform, but that wild air about him it screamed ‘not from an average family. And then. there was Leamer’s boyfriend; forget his looks, there was a chilling vibe about him, an effortless aristocracy in every move he made.
Logan swallowed again, wondering just who these two really were.
As he pondered, a business–savvy streamer next to him, eyes wide with disbelief, blurted out, “How could you possibly own this place? This restaurant belongs to the Griffin family… Are you a Griffin?”
Yates let out a scoff, pulled up his sleeve to reveal an expensive watch on his wrist, and deliberately checked the time, “Tsk, it’s past seven.”
Everyone’s eyes were drawn to the watch.
Logan’s pupils shrank again. If he bought watches to show off, he must know a thing or two about them – and that watch was clearly worth a million!
Casually wearing a million–dollar watch, sipping on eight hundred grand wine… This family was loaded
Sweetheart, watching all this unfold, couldn’t help but turn to the streamer who had just spoken, asking, “Is the Griffin family that big of a deal?”
The streamer swallowed hard, “Big deal? You know this restaurant’s theirs, right? And the hotel next door with the same name, too! Plus, Greenmeadow’s most famous luxury mall is theirs… Oh, and you mentioned Jungler bought a villa in Waterside? That’s also developed by the Griffin family’s real estate…
The more they heard, the more awestruck they became, and looking back at Yates, the redhead suddenly seemed untouchable. Logan looked from Yates to Everard, “And who might you be?”
Before Everard could respond, Yates chimed in again, “You don’t need to know who he is. Just know he’s the boss.”
Unbeknownst to Yates, in his attempt to back up Everard, he had inadvertently spilled the beans. Everard didn’t correct him, accepting the compliment with a calm demeanor.
The streamers were too intimidated to speak, simply watching the waiter come in, open the wine, let it breathe, and pour Everard a glass.
Everard swirled the wine in his glass, the liquid glinting like blood under his pale fingers, casting a mesmerizing allure. His gaze swept over Sweetheart and landed on her phone, sharpening suddenly. “You’re live–streaming?”
Sweetheart’s hand trembled, almost causing her to drop her phone.
Chapter 193
For some reason, under his scrutiny, even the thick–skinned Sweetheart felt a chill run down her spine. She stuttered, “I’m just streaming dinner for my viewers, I’m a professional streamer…
Everard held her gaze for a long moment, making Sweetheart nervously ask, “Should L., should I turn it off?”
“Just a moment.” Everard spoke slowly, then hooked Cordelia’s chair closer, blocking Yates, and turned to the live stream, “Hello, everyone. I’m Cordelia’s boyfriend.”
The room was baffled.
The few in the room didn’t quite catch what he was saying.
But the live stream exploded with excitement!
When the chat was buzzing about actress Cordelia, everyone had checked her social media, finding only three posts.
The first was her account creation – automatic.
The second was a reshare for her show’s crew.
The third, a hand–holding pic with the caption: “To hold your hand, to grow old with you.”
Everyone had been shipping Cordelia with Bland, but that post shattered their ship–dreams, leaving a trail of heartbreak.
Now, Sweetheart’s stream was going wild:
–“OMG! I’m living! I’m actually seeing a real–life domineering CEO!
“Ahh, this guy is so hot! I need all his info in five minutes!”
–“He and Learner are so easy on the eyes!”
-Those who said no one but Bland was good enough for her, eat your hearts out! This guy is just as good!”
–“I suspect he’s marking his territory!”
–“No need for suspicion, that’s exactly what’s happening!”
