Zion looked at me with both frustration and resignation. "I'm begging you. Just go see Selena. I've been looking for you for so long and only recently found out you work here."
I never thought I would hear these words from him. After remembering how arrogant he used to be, I almost felt like laughing. "It's over between me and her. Besides, I have a girlfriend now." With that, I showed him a photo of Sylvia and me together.
When he saw our picture, he laughed again. This crying and laughing act of his was beyond my interpretation. After a few minutes, I took my phone back from him. "I don't have time to waste with you here. I need to get to work."
I stood up, ready to leave, but to my surprise, he started crying outright, his tears dropping onto the table one by one. "Do you know that Selena tried to kill herself because of you?
"Barely half a year after breaking up with her, and you're already with someone else. She still talks about you like you're a good man, Hudson. But who do you think loves Selena more between you and me?"
Suicide? How could she think of suicide?
My mind went blank.
Suicide? Why would she…?
She was always so full of life, always smiling—how could she even consider something like that?
