Love That Wasn't Meant to Last novel Chapter 29

I never expected that one day I would find myself in a situation as helpless as some of the plots in novels.

Selena could be very sweet at times, but she could also be difficult to handle. Thankfully, she was generally forgiving toward me; as long as I showed some weakness and tried to appease her, even her temper would eventually cool down. So, dealing with her wasn't too challenging.

I had been stuck in the hospital for nearly three days.

For those three days, I was confined to the room by Zion. Aside from going to the bathroom, I hadn't stepped out of that room. I had no idea what the rest of the hospital looked like.

I was completely unaware of any information from the outside world.

Zion appeared in front of me, holding a set of fresh hospital clothes. "Selena hasn't taken a shower in three days. Now that you're back, you need to help her bathe."

"Are you saying I have to give Selena a bath?" I looked at the hospital clothes in his hands, puzzled.

"Selena has bipolar disorder. She's not incapable of taking care of herself. You just need to coax her or remind her; why do I have to do it?" I expressed my dissatisfaction to Zion.

To my surprise, he got even angrier and shoved the hospital clothes into my hands. "What if she gets the idea to drown herself? If anything happens to her, Hudson, can you handle that responsibility?"

I rolled my eyes; it was just a bath—what could possibly happen?
