Love That Wasn't Meant to Last novel Chapter 33

I knew that Zion was quite discontent with the fact that I had a girlfriend, and I felt equally frustrated.

He was the one who had disrupted my relationship with Selena in the first place, yet now that I had chosen to divorce her, he seemed to have a problem with me finding someone new. I couldn't fathom where he got the audacity to look down on me.

Being under his roof, I had no choice but to keep my head down, especially since I felt like I was being held captive by him. Sighing, I looked at him and said, "We agreed that if I helped Selena take a bath, you would give me my phone back."

Zion sneered, pulling out his own phone and waving it in front of me. "I never said I'd return your phone. I just said you could make a call." With that, he unlocked his phone and handed it to me.

Looking at his phone, the wallpaper showed a photo of Selena and him together. Seeing that made me lose the desire to make the call.

Forget it, it was just a phone—nothing special about it. It was just a tool to fulfill my needs. I was about to dial Sylvia's number when a text message came in.

"We've found out everything about that woman. Meet at the usual place tonight."

Woman? Usual place?

I frowned and glanced at Zion, but he showed no reaction. His eyes were fixed on the hospital room.

Not wanting him to pull any tricks behind my back, I hesitated for a second before deciding to delete the message.

I entered Sylvia's number immediately, and as the phone rang, my heart raced with anxiety.
