Love That Wasn't Meant to Last novel Chapter 75

I took a deep breath and finally decided to say the words I had rehearsed for three or four days.

"Sylvia, this is a benefit I worked hard to get from the company. Why don't you use it? Do you know how much hard work I had to put in to get this free trip? You can go anywhere you want, as long as it's not abroad. The company will cover all your expenses. Why give up such a good opportunity?

"I know you've missed me a lot this past month because I haven't been by your side. I understand that, and I feel the same. But, Sylvia, I'm really busy. I have so much to deal with.

"I really don't have the time to accompany you. If I could, I would go on this trip with you, but I just can't. I hope you understand."

Some of what I said was true, although some didn't make any sense. I wasn't sure how Sylvia would feel about me after hearing this, but I said it anyway.

Sylvia remained silent for a while, then lifted her eyes and smiled at me. "Since you've put it that way, fine. I'll listen to you and go."

When she said that, Zion rolled his eyes.

He probably hadn't expected Sylvia to be so romantically silly.

What I thought would be difficult turned out to be solvable with just a few sweet words.

Seeing that she agreed, I gestured for Zion to hand her the prepared documents for her to fill out.

After she completed the paperwork, Zion took it. There was a slight smirk on his lips.
