Chapter 143
Without giving Julianne a chance to respond, I said, “Also, once you get home, make sure to tally up everything Irvin has ever given you. I’ll be sending people to collect them very soon.”
I added, “If you don’t return them, I’ll sue you and request a court order to force you to comply.”
In the past, Irvin would always give her valuable gifts while I only received freebies. Seeing this, my past self would cry.
So now, I decided to reclaim all of her gifts.
The money that Irvin gave her to spend was mine. Plus, the money she had spent in the past was from my and Irvin’s joint account. Thus, it was also mine.
My husband had cheated on me. He also bought expensive gifts for his mistress with my money. Since this was the case, I–the wife–had the right to reclaim these items as they belonged to me.
Julianne’s eyes widened in shock.
She hadn’t recovered from the shock of Irvin transferring all his assets to me. And now, I told her I was going to reclaim everything she had been given. This made her go completely slack–jawed.
She could never have predicted that I would dare to do such a thing.
She was usually quick–witted, but now she was dumbfounded. It took a long time for her to gather her wits.
“Are you out of your mind, Emilia?” she questioned.
She thought I had to have gone crazy to act this way.
She had stolen countless things from me ever since she joined my family. But I hadn’t said a word. But now, I had the gall to ask her to return everything.
“It doesn’t matter if I am. What matters is that you hurry and prepare everything. I’ll be swinging by with company to collect them very soon. Also, I have all the receipts, so don’t miss out on a single thing!”
Irvin and Julianne could only blame themselves for flaunting their relationship. Because of this, I had plenty of evidence.
Julianne was close to losing her mind at my words. No longer able to keep her cool, she shouted, “Just you wait, Emilia. Just you
wait!”
Mom, Dad, Jeremy, and Irvin’s favoritism toward her had made her accustomed to yelling at me like I was beneath her. She always thought I was powerless to do anything no matter how she treated me.
But now, I actually dared to speak to her this way.
“I’m going to make your life miserable, Emilia. Or my name isn’t Julianne Sinclair!” Julianne vowed.
“Well, you better get ready to change it then.” I scoffed.
I then left. The sound of Julianne’s shrieking echoed down the corridor as I walked away.
I cocked an eyebrow upon hearing it. She can’t even handle this much? It was merely the beginning!
I had wanted to get an amicable divorce and not hold anything against them. But they had refused to and weren’t willing to let me off the hook. They had also humiliated me repeatedly and even wanted my life.
Now, the tables had turned. I wasn’t going to let them off easy!
When I passed through the hospital foyer, I spotted Officer Diaz. He was the police officer in charge of the car accident case from earlier tonight.
I walked up to him and inquired about the pregnant woman’s injuries. I was concerned about her.
