irvia had refused to let me go, no matter how much I begged him. So, before we left, I had requested the drug he had used on me. The drug was colorless and odorless. It had taken effect so fast that hadn’t felt a thing. And before I could react, my whole body had gone limp. I was also unable to speak.
It was essentially a perfect sedative to use in an assassination.
Irvin denied my request at first. He wanted me to believe in him and have faith that he wouldn’t allow anything bad to happen to me. He insisted that I wouldn’t need the drug to defend myself.
But I didn’t trust him. Not even an inch. I refused to believe him regardless of what he claimed.
In the end, he conceded and gave me the drug. I didn’t know if it was just to put me at ease or if he had other reasons.
And sure enough, I was right to distrust him. He deserved every bit of it..
I was the only person I could rely on to save me every single time.
I felt the knife lower from my throat. That was when I knew the right moment had come.
Just as the knife was about to fall away completely, I snatched it from the man’s grasp. Then, I quickly leaned forward and stabbed it into Ms. Plume’s neck.
She hadn’t seen this coming at all. She was so shocked that her hand slipped off the wheel. The car almost veered off into a ditch because of this.
Fortunately, I had already anticipated this. So, I quickly engaged the car’s automatic emergency braking system.
The car came to an abrupt stop.
Ms. Plume tried to speak but couldn’t. Her face paled in an instant. She finally noticed there was something wrong with her body. She had no strength in her, and she couldn’t move.
It seemed the drug had taken full effect. She appeared to be fully immobilized. That being said, I didn’t let my guard down. She practiced martial arts, after all. So there was no guarantee the drug wouldn’t act differently on her.
With the knife still lodged in her neck, I opened her door and forcefully kicked her out of the car. I got out of the car to check on her. After I was sure she couldn’t move, I retrieved the knife. Then I moved to the back of the car to remove the man.
The drug I used took effect quickly, but it also wore off just as fast. So, I had to move quickly.
But the man in the back seat was too heavy for me. It took me quite a while to haul him out of the car. I eventually managed to and was going to lean against the car to catch my breath.
That was when I saw Ms. Plume sneakily reaching for her pocket. She had been fully paralyzed just moments ago. As expected of a trained martial artist, she had great physical stamina. So, she was still able to move under these conditions.
Fumbling around, it seemed she was trying to retrieve her phone to notify Travis. I waited until she had unlocked her phone before snatching it away.
Hintended to call the cops. We might have been in a remote mountain area, but I had been attentive to my surroundings. Thus, I had a rough idea of my location.
Sensing what I was about to do, Ms. Plume gritted her teeth. Her eyes were bloodshot as she said, “Don’t you dare run or call the cops, Emilia! Mr. Sawyer will never forgive you if something were to happen to Ms. Julianne! You know how important she is to him!”
Ignoring her, I focused on calling the cops. I might have been able to commandeer the car, but the mountainous roads were winding. Also, the road conditions were poor. So, I might not necessarily safely escape.
Hence, I had to call the authorities first.
