Although the weather was getting warmer, it was still just the beginning of spring. Yet, Noah would eat shirtless. For a moment, I didn’t know whether to focus on my meal or his sculpted abs.
When I had only looked at his face before, I only thought he had changed a lot and got so good–looking, completely different from before.
But now that I saw his beautiful abs and toned muscles, I realized he had grown up.
He was a full–grown man now.
But still…
“Aren’t you cold?” I asked, looking at Noah, who was serving food without a shirt.
I knew young men could be more resistant to the cold, but while I was still wearing a thin sweater, he had already stripped down to only wearing pants. That was a little crazy.
Noah was silent.
“Put something on. You’ll catch a cold,” I said as I passed him a shirt.
His grip on the spoon tightened slightly, and there was a flicker of complex emotion in his eyes. ” Thanks, Lily.”
I was about to shrug it off, but then I suddenly realized something. “Hey, why aren’t you calling me Emi anymore?”
Noah fell silent.
He wanted to call me something more intimate. But he was afraid that if he said it directly, he would ruin the relationship we had at the moment.
Seeing him staying silent, as if contemplating about something, I was about to ask him but my lab called. They told me that a test result was out, but it was very different from the estimated outcome and needed me to take a look.
I no longer had the time to talk to him. I immediately hurried to the lab after telling him to wash the dishes after the meal.
I didn’t notice the sense of disappointment on his face when I turned to leave.
The test results were so off that it meant our previous hypothesis was completely wrong. We had to undo everything and start over.
Then, I ended up staying at the lab.
At this time, Irvin came by once, bringing along someone unfamiliar to discuss the company’s future.
Completely preoccupied with figuring out why the data was wrong and how to fix it, I had no intert in discussing any company matters with him. I told him to handle everything himself.
When Irvin was about to say something, I had already turned to leave.

I used to see him as my entire world. All my attention and emotions revolved around him. Everything he did or said would dictate what I was feeling.
“If he frowned, it would feel like the end of the world.
But now? Not only did I not feel nothing for him, I also stopped resenting him like before.
I just treated him as someone I used to know. He could no longer affect me, and I would even forget he had come and why he had come.
My mind was only occupied with thousands of numerical combinations and how to arrange them to get the correct results.
It was an extremely difficult task. As difficult as searching for a single useful seed in the vast universe. I had to give it all the energy I had.
In comparison, everything else was no longer important.
I had no time to spare even for an extra glance at Irvin and the person he brought with him, so I didn’t notice the way that person was observing and analyzing me.
