However, Timothy didn’t show any reaction on his face. He casually told Madam Hardwell that he had some work to attend to and asked her to leave.
Since she was also worried about her daughter–in–law’s health, she didn’t linger for long.
After she left, Timothy instinctively wanted to call Solomon to investigate his suspicions. But just as he was about to make the call, he suddenly realized that, given his current identity, everyone he knew had been introduced to him by the Hardwells.
If he asked someone from the Hardwell family to investigate the Hardwells, not only would he find nothing, but he would also expose his doubts, making them wary of him.
He stopped himself from making the call.
Right now, his only option was to heal his legs as quickly as possible. Once he could move freely, he would have a real chance to uncover the truth.
As he thought about this, he suddenly remembered the summit he had been watching earlier.
So, he reopened his laptop, intending to learn more about possible treatments for his legs and to understand the woman named Emilia Quill better.
He never could have imagined that in just the short time he had stopped watching the live stream, something shocking had happened.
Looking at the flood of online comments cursing me out and seeing my name trending in multiple lists, he was stunned for a
moment.
He truly didn’t recognize me at all, but for some reason, he felt certain that I wasn’t the type to sleep around for academic
success.
When he saw that some people had uncovered the fact that I owned two companies, both well–known ones, he became even more convinced that I didn’t need to resort to such things.
He had no idea why, but when he saw the names of my companies, he felt a strong sense of familiarity within him.
He couldn’t help but wonder why they felt so familiar.
But whenever he tried to think about it, a sharp, excruciating pain would split his head open.
And yet, the more it hurt, the more he wanted to remember.
Because the pain meant there was something important there.
So, despite the agony, he forced himself to think hard about it. Eventually, the pain became unbearable, and he passed out.
That evening, a housekeeper knocked on his door to bring him dinner, only to find him unconscious in his wheelchair. Terrified, she quickly rushed to call for help.
The Hardwells‘ family doctor quickly arrived.
After a series of examinations, the doctor analyzed Timothy’s abnormal brain wave scan and suspected that he had overexerted himself trying to recall something despite the intense headache. Eventually, he passed out from the pain.
When Madam Hardwell heard this, her gaze darkened instantly.
After the doctor left, she turned to the housekeeper beside her. “Margaret, call Benjamin over now! He needs a second round of hypnosis.”
She couldn’t let him remember anything!
Margaret took a glance at the man lying on the bed, his unconscious face frowning from the headache.
