How could you take advantage of your position to seduce my husband! How could you knowingly become the other woman!” Grace accused.
The photo she showed me on her phone was from when Irvin hugged me tightly after standing up from his wheelchair.
When I first saw it, I was stunned. But then, it hit me- we had been watched this whole time!
Based on the direction the photo was taken from, it could have only been taken from outside my work studio’s window. And given that my studio was on the 10th floor, there was no way a random passerby snapped the photo by chance.
Plus, the camera angle of the photo indicated it wasn’t a coincidental shot. Someone had clearly been watching us from a floor above in the adjacent building.
I also realized I had never closed the curtains in my studio. So, if someone had been watching us the entire time, they definitely knew Irvin had long since regained full use of his legs–which meant the Hardwells no longer needed my services.
Thus, here came the poised and ever–calculating Grace. She had abruptly confronted me during the party in front of everyone and accused me of being a homewrecker. Given the circumstances, she was surely scheming something
I snapped back to my senses at this thought and instinctively backed away from her. I wanted to put as much distance between us as possible. But before I could, she quickly stepped forward and held my arm tightly.
My natural reaction was to try to pull my arm away.
Regardless of what Grace was trying to do, she was still pregnant. Because of this, I merely wanted to extract my arm from her grip and keep my distance from her.
However, she tightened her grip just as I began doing so. Then, I felt something stabbing me hard in the arm. The abrupt pain made me reflexively yank my arm back with more force than I intended.
Yet, Grace somehow made it look like I had shoved her hard. I didn’t know if she had practiced this multiple times before or something, but her acting was very believable.
My eyes widened in shock as I watched her fall backward. I instinctively reached out and tried to grab her. However, that only made it look even more like I had aggressively pushed her.
The heavily pregnant Grace teetered and fell backward.
Irvin had sensed something was amiss with our interaction. But he still hurriedly jumped out of his wheelchair and threw himself onto the ground to cushion her fall. However, blood instantly began to flow from between her legs as she lande of Irvin.
The blood quickly soaked through her white gown, staining it a shocking bright red.
Everyone in the ballroom was stunned into silence.
A pregnant woman getting injured was already frightening enough, let alone one who carried the third generation of the Hardwells‘ main bloodline.
The father of Grace’s child was the Hardwell family’s heir, which meant the unborn child would be next in line.
Who could bear the consequences if something happened to the child? Who could withstand the Hardwells‘ wrath?
Remember, the Hardwells weren’t just the country’s most formidable family—they were also a force to be reckoned with internationally.
It seemed as if the world had stopped for a second before the ballroom erupted with chaos.
op
I stood there staring at the bleeding Grace as she lay on top of Irvin I was frozen in shock and completely unsure of what to do.
