Chapter 330
In short, Grace was claiming neither I nor Agatha were at fault for what happened to her. Instead, she was the one to blame because she had failed as a mother.
Grace was a delicate and ethereal beauty. She had worn a white dress in the video, which had only made her look even more delicate and pure.
Her eyes had also been red with unshed tears when she said it was all her fault, which created a touching image so strong that anyone who watched her video couldn’t help but cry.
Everyone who watched her video felt Grace was pitiful and hadn’t had it easy. They also felt she was too forgiving.
The surveillance footage clearly showed me pushing her. Yet, she claimed she had fallen because she had lost her balance. On top of that, she even took full accountability for her miscarriage. Hence, people felt she was too kind of a person.
For a time, people on the internet felt sorry for Grace. They all felt she was too good–hearted for this world.
But then, someone asked, “Didn’t Emilia Quill and Irvin Sawyer divorce long ago and even go to court over it?”
Someone immediately answered, “Yes, they did. And it was a messy one too. No one knew exactly what Irvin Sawyer had done, but he had realized he was at fault and had begged for Emillia Quill’s forgiveness.
“Yet, not only did she go through with the divorce without a discussion, but she had also taken all of his money and assets in the process.”
This response triggered another question.
If I had been so adamant about not forgiving Irvin and divorcing him, why did I get involved with his identical twin, Timothy? The original twin had begged desperately for my forgiveness, but I hadn’t given it to him. Yet, I had thrown myself at the copy.
The only explanation people could think of was that I was after Timothy’s money. Timothy was the richer twin, and maybe it hadn’t been enough for me to take all of Irvin’s money. So, I set my sights on the Hardwells‘ fortune.
Everyone immediately agreed with this theory once it came out. They all believed I had realized Timothy was much wealthier than Irvin. As such, I had used their identical looks as an excuse to seduce Timothy while treating his legs.
And the reason I had done so was because I wanted to take Grace’s place. Just like how I had seized all of Irvin’s assets, I wanted to do the same with the Hardwells‘ too. Clearly, I had motive to harm Grace.
In no time at all, those who had been defending me online instantly switched sides because of Grace’s clarification video. They fully believed I was a malicious person and even started to doubt all the ways I had cleared my name in the past.
My ex–supporters speculated that my performance during the technology summit had been staged. Just because I had been able to answer all of the questions, it didn’t mean I had led the research project. For all they knew, I had bribed the authority figures into rigging the questions in my favor.
So, instead of clearing my name, Grace’s clarification video had destroyed my reputation. Be it research or ethics, I had been branded as the most shameless and malicious person in the world.
And the worst part was I couldn’t even defend myself.
I didn’t have any evidence to prove that I didn’t push Grace, so I couldn’t say that.
