Chapter 360

Irvin waited for the little boy to pick up his ball and waddle away.

Then, he looked at me and said, Let me take you to the airport first, Emi. Then, as promised, I won’t appear in front of you unless absolutely necessary. We’ll leave everything up to time and let it wear down the feelings we’re clinging to.

Things can change quickly, after all. So, why don’t we just set aside what we can’t solve right now? And who knowsmaybe some time later, we’ll both be able to work through these feelings again.

I knew someone as stubborn as Irvin wouldn’t let go of his fixation on getting back together with me over a simple plea. And since it really was time for me to leave for the airport, I didn’t argue with him any further.

There’s no need for you to take memy driver is already waiting I said.

With that, I walked past him and got into my car. However, Irvin didn’t leave. Instead, he followed behind my car the entire way. The sheer size of the Hardwellsaffairs kept Irvin incredibly busy, so he usually hardly had time to spare. Hence, after following me to the airport, he rushed off in a hurry without me needing to chase him away.

I took a seat in the airport’s VIP lounge. Pulling out my phone, I wanted to review the experiment data I had been thinking about in the car.

But suddenly, someone splashed fruit juice on me. Before I could raise my head or react, that person grabbed my hair and yanked it hard.

You bitch! And you still insist you’re not a homewrecker! Well, who just sent you here then? How desperate are you that you need to seduce a married man!yelled my attacker.

Forced to look up, I saw a complete stranger had yanked my head back and shouted at me. Seizing the hand on my hair, I squeezed it hard to force the woman to let go. Then, I kicked her in the leg, knocking her down to her knees in front of me.

I couldn’t help feeling frustrated as I took in the state of my clothes and phone, both of which had been drenched in sticky juice,

I was frustrated that my reaction had been so slow. Even though I had fully recovered physically and could hold my own in a fight, I had spent too much time in the lab. And all the time I had spent buried in data had made me less alert to my surroundings and had dulled my reflexes.

You damn homewrecker! How dare you hit me!the woman shrilly yelled after snapping out of her shock.

Her yelling attracted the attention of the VIP lounge staff, who quickly gathered around us.

The woman got up and tried to attack me again. Seeing this, the staff rushed in and stopped her before I could even move.

Why are you stopping me! You should join me in beating this damn homewrecker to death!she shrieked, struggling against the staff.

You bitch! You know that Timothy is married. Yet, you still entangle yourself with him! How utterly shameless! Even if you didn’t push Grace, you’re still the reason the baby she was carrying died!
