Chapter 365

The flight attendant knocked on the entrance to the suite to signal her arrival and served our meal. Then, she left swiftly. William and I were eating and discussing our AI chip factory when his face suddenly turned red. He couldn’t say a word. The moment I saw that, I immediately realized what was happening and rushed over to him.

I moved behind him, wrapped my arms around his abdomen, and clenched my fists. With my palm facing upward, I tightened my arms and pressed my left fist forcefully into his upper abdomen again and again, until he finally spat out the seed of a fruit.

He had accidentally swallowed the seed while eating dried fruit, and it had gotten stuck in his throat.

William stared at the seed he’d just coughed up, looking flustered.

A man like him, who was so strong and composed, had choked while eating. He couldn’t believe it had actually happened.

Especially in front of me!

William, who was usually composed no matter the circumstances, now had a face flushed with different shades of red.

Mr. Ashford? Are you okay?I asked.

Seeing that he still didn’t say a word after spitting out the seed, I thought he was still choking on something. I quickly went behind him again, wrapped my arms around him, and pressed my fists into his abdomen.

Even though he was already alright, he just couldn’t tell me he was fine because of how tightly I was holding him.

I continued to apply pressure to his abdomen, but he didn’t react. I frowned, feeling extremely worried.

Just as I was about to press the bell to call the flight attendant, he grabbed my hand. I’m fine.

Before I could react, he turned to look at me.

Seeing that he looked alright, I let out a sigh of relief. As I relaxed and came back to my senses, I realized how intimate our position had become.

I had only been trying to save him, but now that he had suddenly turned around, it felt like he was holding me tightly in his arms.

I had never been this physically close to any man other than Irvin. I quickly took a step back to put some distance between us.

But just then, the plane shook violently.

The turbulence was so strong it nearly knocked me off my feet, but he pulled me into his arms just in time. His chest was so firm, it felt like I’d slammed into a wall.

This was the strongest turbulence I had ever experienced. The flight attendant’s voice was also trembling when she announced that we were experiencing severe turbulence and asked everyone to be seated and fasten their seatbelts.

Food on the table flew and splattered everywhere.

Usually, turbulence would pass quite quickly, but this time it didn’t stop and was also getting worse. The flight attendant’s voice, which was shaky, now sounded like she was crying.

I couldn’t help but feel scared, and I wanted to cry too. I was afraid we might not survive.
