Love You Like I Used To Forget It (Millie Bridge) novel Chapter 428

Chapter 428

Thad no idea what to say to Cordella. In the end, I could only tell her not to worry about me, that I was fine.

After ending the call, I opened the message she had sent ine.

It was a news article.

Irvin was accompanying Grace to her OBGYN appointment for a denatal checkup. The article officially announced that Grace was pregnant after spotting them together.

In the photos in the article, she was holding onto his arms.

He looked as dashing and handsome as ever, and she looked beautiful. They seemed like a perfect couple, glowing with happiness.

The comments were filled with envious remarks about their love and their close bond. Everyone was saying they were a match made in heaven, so good looking and perfectly suited for each other.

I stared at the HD photos of them. They looked so happy. I was so entranced by it that I didn’t even notice when Irvin walked into the room.

Not until he spoke.

Emi.

His voice was hoarse and worn, and his eyes had lost their spark. Even his once jetblack hair now had strands of gray, despite dyeing it once every month.

But I didn’t notice any of that. I was still staring at the news article on my phone.

Noticing that I seemed off, Irvin leaned in to see what I was looking at. The moment he did, his whole body jolted as though he’d been hit, and he stumbled back a few steps.

He didn’t know what to say at all. He just stood there, frozen, like a statue.

I didn’t know what to say, either.

I knew that Grace could be manipulative, and Irvin tended to be soft. It would be just a matter of time before she’d be able to manipulate him. I even hoped for that, so we could completely end things between us.

But seeing this news while I was carrying our child and wanting to give him another chance, my mind began to race, overwhelmed me. I didn’t know what to think or say.

The already quiet room became so still that it was hard to even breathe.

and it

After some time had passed, I lifted my head, my neck stiff and sore from holding the same position for too long. I pointed at the article on my phone and looked at him. Is this real? She’s really pregnant with your child?

Irvin’s hands clenched even tighter at his sides, his nails digging into his skin. He truly wished he could die, as he couldn’t bring himself to admit what had happened between him and Grace.

But he couldn’t end his life. Not when he hadn’t destroyed the Hardwells yet, even if he would feel better off dead.

It felt like hours had passed before he finally lowered his head and admitted with tears in his eyes, Yes. She’s pregnant with my

child.
