Just as I made up my mind to tell Irvin about the twins to see if it would strengthen his will to live…
"Collect yourself, Emi. It's time for us to head out."
William's words snapped me out of it.
We were about to attend a major international business conference. This conference was a crucial opportunity for us to find key evidence that could clear Irvin's name. We had to attend.
Whether or not Irvin wakes up, we couldn't allow Timothy to slander him like this. We couldn't allow him to shoulder the responsibility for a crime he had never committed.
I quickly composed myself, did my makeup, and went with William to the conference.
As soon as we arrived at the venue, we spotted Grace slowly walking in with her arm linked with Timothy's.
Timothy was like a rat who was meant to crawl in the shadows. Yet, he had brazenly appeared in such a place right now.
Meanwhile, Irvin, who had done absolutely nothing wrong, had been branded an internationally wanted criminal. We had to go through great pains to hide him in the hospital.
So, when I spotted Timothy striding in, I unconsciously tightened my grip on William's arm.
Sensing the shift in my emotions, William gently patted the back of my hand to calm me down. I quickly regained my composure.
Timothy truly was arrogant and shameless. We knew the truth about him. Yet, when he spotted us, he didn't even try to avoid us. Instead, he even strutted right up to us.
"Ms. Quill," he said, "I didn't expect we would be seeing each other again so soon."
My gaze instantly darkened when I met Timothy's smug eyes.
