Chapter 147 

Meanwhile, Jenna was feeling very worried for Axiel because she’s heard about the veils of whispers and just how dangerous it was. She knew that she also couldn’t stop him because he’s made up his mind and it was something he was determined to do even though he might not come back. 

She sounded a little bit selfish for not wanting him to go but yet again the veil of whispers was a dangerous place and only those who were tough enough, ever had the courage to go there at least. She wanted to follow her brother because she thought that she could face him and be by his side and to be honest she could. 

“You don’t have to worry about me Jenna, I would be fine,” Axiel told her for the fifteenth time. 

He liked that she was so worried about him because that showed that she cared at least and it made him feel kind of good in a weird way that even he couldn’t even describe anyways. 

“I know that you’d be fine because you’re such a brave and strong warrior but then again no matter how hard I try I just can’t help my worries,” she said, letting all of her sincerity out. 

Axiel knew exactly why she was worried but it only made him worried because he thought that this could actually have an effect on her health as she would become much of an over–thinker which he couldn’t bear. 

“You were so confident about going there with your brother but now that it’s my turn you suddenly feel very worried,” Axiel 

said. 

It was obvious that he was doing nothing more than obviously trying to tease her more and even she couldn’t help but laught a little. She had never seen that side of him and it made her wonder what other side of him she hadn’t seen because even despite all serious tension, he managed to crack a joke without any sign of zero tension. 

“Are you seriously trying to make fun of me right now?” She said about punching him but then the door suddenly burst open revealing Miles and they went straight into serious mode trying not to offend him again. 

The last time they kissed, he didn’t take it well and they wouldn’t want to repeat that again so it was just better to both stay on their levels rather than trying anything wrong and funny. 

*Are you ready or do you really want to play your silly games?” He asked, with a very serious tone. 

They didn’t reply at all but it pissed Jenna off because she felt as though that her brother was taking the anger that his lover was on bed while they got to exhibit their love, making him annoyed while he just went on blaming it all on the hate he has for Axiel. 

*We should get going,” Axiel said, 

He didn’t want to add to whatever was going on and thought that it was better to just avoid that scene. Miles nodded in response while Jenna followed in behind to escort them. 

She got to the front where everyone was there and was ready to bid them goodbye. They left without even taking a glance back or even trying to look back because they feel because it wasn’t going to do them any good. 

“Are you going to follow me or not?, Miles asked angrily to Axiel who was just looking around admiring the surroundings as if he hadn’t been there before. 

Axiel wasn’t the type to take insults but in this case he knew that he had to keep his tongue tied for his own safety at least so as not to put him into any further trouble at all. 

They got to Seraphina’s place who had helped them to prepare a whole lot of magic and things that would prepare them thoroughly for whatever they’re about to go to. 

She gave them a couple of charms and tricks she had learnt during her time on how to counter spiritual creatures and stuff. She also gave them tips they would need to get through with their journey at least. 

They thanked Seraphina and after she blessed them, they didn’t even waste any time and immediately embarked on their

journey. 

TWO DAYS LATER 

It’s been two days. They’ve arrived at the veil of whispers with a whole lots of magical creatures but those weren’t so strong or even that hard to defeat at all. 

” , I need to rest a little Axiel said and sat down on a rock. 

He knew that he had trekked a long distance at least and it was even the both of them that needed full rest so it was time to just sit down under a shade for a little bit before continuing their journey. 

They didn’t talk much since they walked throughout the journey, except they wanted to pass information or just to say something concerning the map. It was like what the both of them had in common lately. 

Miles didn’t want to talk to him but at the same time he felt as though this was the perfect time to tackle him where there would be no one around him, especially Jenna, which would give him such a perfect opportunity. 

Why are you with my sister?,” He suddenly asked out of the blue. 

He looked at him with a confused expression. It was obvious that he was just trying to play dumb and there was something about Miles, he is someone that loves being straightforward about what they really want. 

“Aren’t you going to answer me?” He said, changing his voice in a more serious tune. Miles wanted him to know that he was being hundred percent serious because he never joke with his sister, 

“I really like her,” he said, casually. 

The way he said it nonchalantly just made Miles more suspicious and knew that he could actually try to use his so–called sincere voice and make him think that he really liked her this time. 

“After what you’ve made her go through?,” he asked, making him understand the bad things he had done to her and just much he hurt her.
