Chapter 164
I had struck a deal with my blind date, where there was a fee each for holding hands, hugging, and event
kissing.
Brandon mentioning it now made it clear he knew about this. It seemed there was more to the he had scared off that guy by beating him, but he had never said a word about it. Brandon really knew how to make me speechless.

Instead of kissing me, he grabbed my hand and bolted through the crowd.
It was my first time sprinting through a bustling city, and my surroundings were a blur of astonished faces. People didn’t know why we were running, but they instinctively made way, creating a makeshift lane for us.
There we were, Brandon and I, racing down the middle of a crowded street while people stepped aside.
Holding my hand, he would turn to glance at me from time to time. The scene was so beautiful and surreal, and I felt like we were the main characters of a movie.
The wind whipped through my hair, and as I watched Brandon pull me along, I felt like we were eloping. We ran until my lungs burned, and then Brandon finally slowed down and stopped. Both of us panted heavily while staring at each other. His hand was still wrapped firmly in mine.
My heart was pounding like a drum, partly from running, and partly from the exhilarating experience Brandon had just given me.
We didn’t speak and just took some time to gatch our breaths.
But Brandon showed no signs of letting my hand go. In fact, I noticed his Adam’s apple bob again. I found myself doing the same thing, and sparks flew around us.
My heart hammered even faster in my chest. Swallowing hard due to nervousness, I finally managed to break the silence. “Um… why did you run?”
“Would you have preferred kissing in front of all those people?” Brandon asked. His words caused my cheeks to burn immediately.
Speechless, I tried to yank my hand free, but Brandon Held on tight. In my embarrassment and frustration, I stomped on his foot.
He yelped in pain and immediately released his grip. I seized the opportunity to make a break for it. I heard him chuckling softly behind me, and it made my face feel even hotter.
Brandon silently trailed behind me. After giving me a moment to recover from the embarrassment, he called out to me in front of a stall selling chocolate–covered fruit. “I want to eat this.”
I promised I would treat him, so naturally, I couldn’t ignore him.
I stopped and looked at the stall. There were chocolate–covered fruits in all shapes and sizes, from traditional varieties to seasonal fruits. It was a vibrant display, and I felt my mouth watering.
Even though I loved chocolate–covered fruits, I didn’t show it. I turned to look at Brandon. “Which one do you want?”
“What about you?” he asked instead.
I scanned the options and pointed at some smaller chocolate–covered fruits. “One of each of these, please,”

Then I looked back at Brandon. “Your turn.”
He opted for a chocolate–covered apple. “I want this one.”
