Chapter 293 

Yerick was six feet tall and could have brought me down to the floor if he had pulled my arm harder. I swayed in place as I struggled to regain my footing, but Jewel came up to us before I could snap at him. 

She looked stormy, and for a moment, I was shocked to realize she was not as beautiful up close. 

Why did I ever think she was pretty? 

Perhaps one’s face was determined by one’s feelings Judging by how twisted she was, it made sense. that her appearance would reflect it. 

“Yerick, come here!” Jewe seethed, glowering at her younger sibling. 

“Madeline, save me!” Yerick pleaded like a helpless child behind me. 

I rolled my eyes and cursed his wimpy ass. Annoyed, I snapped, “Let go of me!” 

“Madeline, please!” he begged, gluing himself to me as a child would when asking for favors. 

I gritted my teeth and raised my leg, bringing my heel down on Yerick’s foot. He yelped in pain and let go out of instinct. 

My arm freed. I rubbed my skin against my shirt as if to wipe off the feel of his fingers and walked away. However, Jewel stuck her arm out to cut me off. I glared at her. “Move.” 

“I didn’t peg you for the cruel, vicious type, Madeline,” Jewel bit out, her words catching me off guard. The next second, my surprise was replaced by fury as I retorted, “Might want to get that brain of yours checked, Jewel.” 

“You turned the Gildons against me and made them pick on me even though you and Chris are already over! Did you think you’d win? It’s not as if Chris wouldn’t arrange a new abode for me after I’ve been kicked out, you know,” Jewel drawled. 

Enlightened, I thought about what Bree had told me before. As it turned out, she made good on her word and kicked Jewel out of the house. 

I had tried to stop Bree then, but now, I secretly praised her bold move. As such, I did not balk under Jewel’s mutinous gaze and merely snorted. “I don’t care about winning as long as I’ve put you through hell. 

Jewel’s face turned white with anger, “What do you have to gain from it anyway?”
