Chapter 41 

Not long ago, Chris had also massaged my foot. At that time, I felt moved, but it didn’t feel like this. I didn’t know why. Perhaps it was a different technique. 

As Brandon finished massaging my ankle, I heard Kelly shouting outside,” Listen up, all of you! Who dares to harm my people? I won’t be nice to those who harm them from now on!” 

“What’s going on?” I asked softly. 

Brandon removed my foot from his knee and placed it on another bench. As he stood up, I noticed that his face was a bit red. I thought that he was hot, but the next thing he said made me realize otherwise. 

He said, “From now on, try to avoid wearing dresses around here.” 

I looked down at my dress. It was a sapphire blue silk dress that clung to my body and had a high slit. Sitting like this, the slit had ridden up, revealing my thighs. 

While he was massaging my foot, he had probably seen something. 

My face reddened. But I was determined not to lose my dignity. I nonchalantly asked, “What’s wrong? Does my dress bother you?” 

Brandon’s Adam’s apple bobbed twice quickly, then he strode out of the courtyard. A moment later, Kelly stopped shouting. 

Curious about what was happening outside, I hopped to the door and saw Brandon standing with his back to me. In front of him was his rumored love. 

interest, Hammy. 

“Your actions constitute intentional harm. If reported to the police, you’ll face legal consequences,” Brandon said, pointing to a puddle of oil on the ground. That was exactly where I had slipped earlier. 

So, my fall wasn’t an accident. It was intentional. 

“What makes you say I did it? Did you see me?” Hammy retorted. 

Kelly chimed in, “I asked around. Someone saw you pouring oil here.” 

Hammy fell silent. Her eyes filled with pitiful tears as she looked at Brandon. 

Chapter 41 

But her words were sharp. “She seduced you…” 

I seduced Brandon? Hammy really knew how to pin the blame on me. 

Seeing how Kelly and Brandon were standing up for me, I felt I had to do something to repay their efforts. 

So, I hopped over and leaned against the wall for support. I walked up and took Brandon’s arm without causing a scene. Smiling at Hammy, I said, “Thanks for the incident. It made me realize how good a man Brandon is.” 

Hammy’s face turned white. 

I squeezed Brandon’s arm, feeling his solid and elastic muscles. “Let’s go. You can cut the watermelon for me.” 

My voice was so sweet it gave me goosebumps. I had never spoken like this; not even to Chris. 

Brandon looked at me, his eyes darkening. At the next moment, he picked me up again. He carried me so effortlessly. It was as if I were a small bag he could easily lift.
