Chapter 64
Girlfriend?
He had met me on a blind date just a few days ago and almost immediately. asked for my hand in marriage. How could he get a girlfriend in such a short
amount of time?
I remembered how urgent he had been to get married. He clearly needed a partner desperately, so he moved on immediately after I turned him down.
That was good. That meant I could face him properly and not have to worry about anything.
I quickly tossed my container into the trash can and waited for him by the door.
Kara came over less than two minutes later. She clearly hadn’t finished her chicken, and it was probably because her new crush was already taken.
She sighed loudly. “The grass really is greener on the other side. I can’t even play around anymore.”

I was tickled by her disappointment. “Thank God you’re not a man, Kara. You’d be a real casanova.”
After I finished speaking, Brandon began walking toward us. He had on a black T–shirt, cargo pants, and tough leather boots. He walked with an upright posture. He really was a modern Adonis.
“He’s so hot!” Kara breathed out. “Look at those muscles! He just gets better the more I look at him. I bet it would make my year to get lifted up by those
arms.”
I knocked on her forehead with a knuckle. “Quit having so many dirty thoughts.”
“What kind of woman would be able to pull such a magnificent man? I’m
genuinely curious,” Kara asked, seemingly too far gone in her obsession with his good looks.
“I don’t know. Go ahead and ask him yourself,” I said as I approached him.
Even though he was the main person in charge of the lighting, I needed to be there as the third–party organizer while he debugged the lighting program.
After all, if he didn’t do a good job, I would be the one in hot water.
Kara quickly followed me. Before we were within earshot of Brandon, she said, Maddie, even if I can’t play around with him, it would be nice to have some eye candy.”
I fell silent.
I had been working with her for two years. I never knew how lustful she was. She almost seemed to be willing to do anything for her lustful thoughts.
Brandon, Mr. Lachy, and I reached the first set of lights. Mr. Lachy had already sent him all the issues with the lighting in an e–mail, so Brandon immediately began working on it.
The process was a success. He quickly managed to debug the first set of lights.
“That’s so cool! He really is a good engineer,” Kara said as she clapped, looking for all the world like a fangirl.
Brandon approached me. “Where’s the general control panel for the amusement park?”
“What?” I didn’t understand.
“These lights are taking up a lot of the wiring here. I want to check the electricity and also the wiring. In fact, it would be best to contact the wiring. engineers who worked on these,” Brandon said to me.
I didn’t ask any further after that. I simply called the wiring engineer and asked him to wait for me in the control room.
ht Kara along with him to the next area that was having problems. Ltook Brandon to the control room. Both of us walked in perfect silence.
The atmosphere felt a little bit strange and awkward.
In the end, I gave in and asked, “Aren’t you a taxi driver?”
“Yes. That’s my part–time job,” he replied casually.
