That one line from the woman on the phone made Ron’s legs tremble. He immediately reached for the phone on his desk, fumbling to cover things up. “Sorry, I dialed the wrong number. This isn’t Hayden’s phone.” 

“Nope!” Keira shut down his excuse before he could even finish. 

Ron’s mouth twitched as he looked at her nervously. He hesitated for a moment before speaking to the person on the other end of the line. “Who are you? How did you get this phone? Did you steal it or find it?” 

He was trying so hard to smooth things over, even coming up with an excuse for the person on the other side. 

But the woman wasn’t having it. She didn’t play along. “I didn’t steal it or find it. It’s in my hand. What about it? Is that a problem?” 

“Of course it’s a problem! You can’t just take someone else’s phone like that. And let me warn you, he’s a married man! If his wife hears about this, she might misunderstand,” Ron blurted, his eyes darting back and forth to gauge Keira’s reaction. 

“Oh? His wife’s that petty? Doesn’t seem to match Hayden’s style,” the woman retorted, casually dismissing Keira. 

Ron was sweating bullets now. Keira smiled faintly and cut in, “Miss Drago, you’re quite a match for him, especially since your families arranged it. A perfect pair.” 

The voice belonged to Yara. Keira recognized her the moment she spoke her first sentence. 

She hadn’t heard anything about her for a while, and yet here she was, right by Hayden’s side. 

“Miss Kay, you’re here too?” Yara didn’t sound surprised at all. There wasn’t even a hint of panic, just her usual cheerful tone. 

“That’s right,” Keira replied, keeping her voice light. “Is Hayden in the shower or getting dressed?” 

Ron frantically tried to mediate. “Let’s not joke around like that. Everyone here is just friends, nothing more.” 

Before he could finish, Yara’s voice came through the phone again, as calm as ever. “He’s… getting dressed.” 

That was the last straw for Ron. He couldn’t sit still any longer and lunged to grab the phone. ” For heaven’s sake, can you stop messing around? You’re going to get someone killed!” 

“I’m just telling the truth. Don’t believe me? Let’s ask Hayden. You can hear for yourself,” Yara said, her voice dripping with amusement. Then she called out, “Hayden, are you done getting dressed? Ron is looking for you.”

“Almost. What does he want?” Hayden’s voice came through, calm and casual.

Ron was practically white as a sheet, his eyes now fixed squarely on Keira’s face, studying her every reaction. 

“Yara, stop playing games! Turn the camera toward Hayden. I need to see if he’s wearing pants or a shirt,” Ron demanded, his panic barely concealed. 

“And who says you’re allowed to look?” Yara deflected smoothly, refusing to cooperate. 

Keira stood up at that moment without a word and headed for the door. 

Ron scrambled after her, all the while shouting at Yara through the phone. “You’re really going too far! Just wait and see how Hayden deals with me later.” 

“Oh, I’ll be waiting. I’m hanging up now. I need to change too,” Yara replied with an even more suggestive tone before ending the call. 

Ron looked ready to smash the phone into pieces. He blocked Keira’s path at the door, desperation written all over his face. “Keira, I swear, it’s not what you think. Yara was just messing with us!”
