As Ellie approached, Haley screamed and fell to the ground, and the hem of her coat conveniently covered the collarbone 

chain 

Noticing that Alex’s gaze was fixed on Ellie, Haley quickly hid the collarbone chain on the ground and pulled off her necklace, tossing it to the same spot. 

“Move aside!” Ellie’s view was blocked by Evelyn, and she forcefully pushed her aside. 

Bending over to pick up the broken necklace from the ground, Elie frowned deeply, 

She hadn’t seen it clearly from a distance just now, but it seemed like it wasn’t the right one. 

Seeing Haley’s left hand always in her coat pocket, Ellie stepped forward, grabbed Haley’s arm, and reached into her pocket. 

The next moment, she pulled out a diamond ring from Haley’s Hocket 

Staring at the item in her hand, Ellie’s mind raced as she tried to remember if she had missed any details. 

Haley exchanged a look with Evelyn. Before Ellie could respond, Haley grabbed the broken necklace and engagement ring from Ellie’s hand. 

She said, “Ellie, I know you haven’t gotten over Alex. Even if you’re envious of me, you can’t just take my engagement ring in front of him. That’s too much!” 

Ellie was briefly confused, trying hard to piece together in her mind the necklace she initially saw on the ground, ignoring Haley. 

Seeing Ellie’s unusual demeanor, Alex discreetly positioned himself in front of her and asked Evelyn, “What did you say you wanted to return to me?” 

Evelyn realized what was happening and quickly took the broken necklace from Haley’s hand, handing it to Alex. 

She said. “Alex, I heard from Haley that you’ve given her a lot of expensive jewelry while you were together. I’m here to return these to you. As long as you’re sincere with our Haley, we won’t ask for anything else. 

Haley secretly breathed a sigh of relief, noticing Evelyn’s quick action. 

Ellie closely watched Haley’s reactions, noticing she was fiddling with the edge of her coat, her eyes narrowing gradually. 

Taking the opportunity while Haley was distracted, Ellie reached out to pull on Haley’s coat. 

As soon as her hand touched the corner of Haley’s coat, Haley suddenly clutched her chest with both hands and fell to the ground. ‘Alex, I can barely breathe. I feel so bad!” 

Ellie watched as Alex and Evelyn rushed anxiously to Haley’s side. Fixing her eyes on the spor Haley was clutching, she said, I’m a doctor. Let me take a look.” 

“Stay away from me!” Evelyn reached out to push Ellie away, but Alex stopped her with a sudden chilling gaze. 

Seeing Ellie becoming suspicious, Haley shimmied closer to Ales, “Alex, I don’t want her to examine me. She hates ΠΕ and wants revenge; she wants to kill me. I’m really scared”

Ellie tugged at the edge of Haley’s coat, while Haley desperately clasped her arms around her chest to protect it. 

The more Haley resisted, the more determined Ellie was to find out the truth. 

Just as the two were in a tense struggle, Evelyn rushed forward frantically, trying to pull Ellie away. 

“It’s all your fault. If you hadn’t tried to seduce my daughter’s fiancé, she wouldn’t be so depressed. She treated you as her best friend, like a sister to Alex, yet you shamelessly hurt my daughter,” she accused 

Evelyn warned. “My daughter has already tried to harm herself twice. If anything happens to her again, I won’t let you off 

the hook!” 

As soon as Evelyn finished speaking, Alex lifted Haley and headed towards the luxurious car parked nearby. 

Ellie stood up, watching as Alex carried Haley away, then turned towards the entrance and went inside. 

Alex placed Haley in the car, then instinctively turned to look at Ellie. 

Watching Ellie walk through the entrance without looking back, his eyes flickered with uncertainty. 

Seeing Alex standing at the car door, unable to take his eyes off Ellie’s departing figure, Haley cried while pulling on Alex, saying. “Alex, am I about to die? Can you go with me to the hospital 

“Don’t worry. I’ll go with you to the hospital.” Alex said as he finally looked away and got into the car. 

Back in her room, Ellie felt more and more that something was off. 

Years ago, after saving that person, her father lost a leg. She had always kept that collarbone chain at the bottom of a box. never taking it out to look at it. 

Once, when Haley 

playing in her room, she accidentally opened the box and saw the collarbone chain. 

She offered the chain to Haley, but at that time, Haley didn’t accept it at all. Later on, the collarbone chain mysteriously vanished 

Seeing that collarbone chain always reminded her of her father lost leg, filling her with overwhelming guilt and sadness, 

That’s why she never made an effort to find it again and didn’t want to see it anymore!

Sitting on the steps by the fountain in the city center plaza, Ellic and Aaron watched the busy crowd. 

Ellie looked at her brother Aaron with concern. “Aaron, does it have to be you handling this case?” 

Aaron ruffled Ellie’s hair to reassure her, “This case is too important. There was not only Ethan in the car at the time but also a wealthy kid from Jinerity. So far, three people have died, five are seriously injured, and five have minor injuries.” 

Ellie knew Aaron was an honest person, but she was really worried. “Aaron, can’t this case be given to someone else?”
