Chapter 85 

A few hours later, at the Warren Manor, Alex had just finished showering and changing when he was stopped by Nancy at the top of the stairs. 

“Aren’t you supposed to be spending the holiday with your grandpa! Where do you think you’re going?” Nancy asked. 

Alex causally replied. “Haley’s in the hospital. I’m just going to keep her company.” 

Nancy’s expression changed immediately upon hearing her son’s plan to visit Haley during Thanksgiving 

She pointed at Alex, raising her voice, “Even if you don’t want to marry Diana, you can’t be with Haley!” 

Alex snapped back, clearly irritated. “It’s my marriage, Mom! Can you please stop trying to control everything” 

Nancy pointed an accusing finger at him. “Is this just about you? If you marry the wrong woman, she can ruin three generations! 

“Haley has no skills, no morals, only knows how to scheme and take. If you’re serious about her, you must give up the right to inherit the family 

business 

Alex shot back, “Tm the only one left in the Warren family. If you don’t want to give me the inheritance, who else could you possibly give it to?? 

Nancy retorted. “I could give it to my daughter, Ellie. 

“Even if you want to give it to her, she wouldn’t dare to take it Alex said, brushing past his mom as he headed for the door 

Just then, the butler rushed in, saying, “We have a quest” 

Before the butler finished speaking, Aaron entered the living room. As soon as Alex saw Aaron, his expression tumed dark. 

“Aaron,” Nancy exclaimed, stepping forward to greet him warmly. 

Aaron nodded politely, “Mrs. Warren.” 

“Where’s Ellie? She didn’t come with you?” As Nancy was about to ack the butler to brew tea, she saw Aaron punch ber son squarely in the face.

Upon hearing Aaron mention his father in the hospital, Alex’s expression flickered with concern 

“What happened? Why is he in the hospital on a holiday?” Todd asked

“Calm down, sir,” the builer said, seeing the old man’s increasing ire and quickly pulling out a heart pill just in case. 

Aaron, a pillar of strength, had tears in his eyes. “Ellie has always been a good kid. No one would willingly endure the pain of separation to hand their daughter over to someone else. The only reason she agreed to join the Warren family is because I, as her brother, have failed to protect her. 

“My dad los his leg saving my sister from that disaster. You have no idea how much it hurts her to hear you insult him. You said he sold a daughter in his past life, causing him to suffer now with one leg lame. 

“She almost fainted at the hospital. Regardless of whether she wants to acknowledge Nancy as her mother, she never considered stepping into your life. Please don’t disturb hers anymore.”
