Eva didn't know why she couldn't watch William cry, every time he cried, she would agree to everything, even going to live in Rosenfeld Hill for William, but it was obvious that they had never met before a month ago.
Eva originally wanted to accuse Caleb, but looking at Caleb's tightly knitted brow, the words that came to her lips could not be said. Yes, Caleb was William's real father, how could he really not feel heartbroken?
Luckily there was no movement there after a while, and William gradually calmed down when he couldn't see anyone else coming.
Graham stayed with him as he gradually calmed down and then guided him through the conversation.
William still nodded or shook his head in response, but was much more positive than he was when he arrived earlier.
Two hours was an inordinately long time for Eva, and by the end of it she was so bored that she was staring wide-eyed at Caleb.
"Sit down, have some rest." Caleb ordered in a deep voice.
"I'm not tired." Eva was at the moment very much like a parent sending her child to an entrance exam, anxious and restless.
Caleb forced her to sit down, "You make me dizzy by walking around."
As the two talked, Graham came out with William in his arms.
"Mr. Livingstone, I told you before that Liam's condition is already improving, so don't give him too much stimulation and don't break the rules I set for him before at will. This is detrimental." Graham glanced at Eva and said with an intentional meaning.
"We have done as you said, and have rarely exposed him to the strange and unsettling environment of the outside world." Caleb responded.
Graham said looking at Eva, "But what is wrong with this lady? She took Liam to such a chaotic place on the set and even made it into the newspaper. Can you take care of Liam on the set, Miss Sommers? I'm afraid you can't even look after yourself, let alone look after a child."
When Graham was aggressive towards Eva, William immediately struggled out of his embrace and shielded himself in front of Eva. No one was allowed to be mean to Eva!
"Dr. Bexley, you've crossed the line." Caleb said with cold eyes.
"Mr. Livingstone, Liam is my patient, I have to be responsible for him." Graham was unusually insistent.
Eva knew that it was her negligence that Liam was almost exposed, but why were the words spoken by this doctor sounded jealous? Did he like Cale and thought she was in his way?
"Liam is much better off being with her, you should respect your employer's choice, not interfere with it." Caleb warned in a low voice.
Graham was afraid that because of Eva, Liam would turn better little by little and his high paying job would be gone, so he was very hostile to Eva and would inevitably speak harsh. Being warned by Caleb, he instantly became quiet.
On the one hand, Eva was guilty of not doing her best for Liam, on the other hand, she felt that Graham's hostility was somewhat inexplicable, and finally she gave a blank glance to Caleb, blaming it on Caleb for the adorer he had attracted.
"Dr. Bexley, although Liam is not my child, but I was saved by him, how could I have bad intentions to harm him? Dr. Bexley, you have watched too many family feud dramas, don't you?" Eva responded indifferently.
She was really offended by this person's superiority complex. William was just a kid, everyone was wishing that he could be better soon, but this person was using William as a tool to fight for favour, it was just crazy.
With that, she left in a huff with William in her arms.
Caleb followed closely behind, and Graham's clinic instantly fell silent, so silent that a pin could be heard when dropped.
After sending William home, Caleb headed to the set with Eva.
"Be home by seven o'clock in the evening, and the door is closed at ten." Caleb spoke.
