Vivian could not sleep that night. She kept on turning and tossing and sometimes, she would just stare at her empty ceiling. She couldn't handle well her mother's revelation about her past.
It was so painful that her mother's past scarred her heart. It left a mark. If only her grandfather favored the marriage of her mother and her lover before, then they would not be in that situation. Her mother would still be living happily with the man she truly loves and Violet would have so many younger brothers and sisters and she wouldn't be stuck with her.
But then again, she wouldn't even be alive if it wasn't for the turn of events.
One question that bothers her is that related to Violet. Was her sister aware that the man she was calling father all her life weren't actually his father. Is that the reason why Violet was so defiant of him and when asked to return, her sister declined with fear that their father might hurt her and the gardener's son.
The next morning, Vivian had to cover up a fair amount of dark circles under her eyes. She was up all night with a lot of questions in her mind. She had been the most carefree among their family that's why she couldn't think of any reason on how to patch her family up.
Well aside from the wedding ofcourse.
After a well thinking through, Vivian had decided to pursue with the wedding. It's her only hope to gather her family together. Her father might also forgive Violet for her sake and her mother wouldn't be so lonely anymore.
She's not marrying the man for love, she was marrying him for convenience.
''Good Morning, Daddy.'' She greeted her father who was busy reading the morning newspaper while eating breakfast. ''Are you going out of the country this week?''
Her father puts down the newspaper and smiled at her.
''Yes, I'll be in Japan for a week but just in time to attend your wedding.'' Her father answered. ''Do you have something you want?''
Vivian shook her head in response. ''I will be visiting Troy this morning in his office.'' She told her father.
''That's good daughter. You'll have plenty of time to get to know each other.'' Her father nodded in affirmation. Then they eat their breakfast in silence.
Vivian wanted to ask her father about Violet. She wanted to know if her father's anger to her sister vanished already so Violet could return to their house and her mother would not worry so much.
Vivian took a sigh then looked at her father.
''Daddy. . . Mom's health is failing rapidly.'' She started, and as if on cue, her father stopped and puts down his spoon then looked at her. ''Mom wanted to see Violet so bad,''
''I don't want to talk about it.'' Vivian's father said sternly.
She almost flinched but she muster her courage.
''Violet is still your daughter.'' She told her father. He still doesn't know that she already discovered the secret. Vivian wanted her sister back.
Her father felt silent for a while then looked at her. His gaze as cold as ice. ''Violet is no longer my daughter the moment she disobeyed me.'' Her father answered and finishes his meal quietly.
Vivian felt her hope drained her body.

After breakfast, Vivian took a quick shower and dolled herself up. She chose a really cute pink dress partnered with a red stiletto. Her wavy hair let loose. She even wore an expensive pearl statement piece that her parents gave her for her Eighteenth birthday.
