Loving The Playboy (by Queenies) novel Chapter 14

Chapter 14

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blazing off like a freaking siren, disrupting my sleep. I snuggled deep into my pillow, refusing to get up or even

shut down the alarm.

Bree, turn that down and get ready for school. My mom shouted from downstairs.

Must my weekdays always start like this! I lazily stretched my arms to the side of the bed. I took the alarm clock, ready to throw it to the wall, when my mom shouted again from down the stairs.

You better don’t throw that alarm clock on the wall; I am not going to get you another one.

I forced myself to sit up and turn off the alarm. I climbed down from the bed, took off my clothes, and then walked to the bathroom. I first brushed my teeth, and when I was done, I stepped into the shower with my favourite vanilla body wash. I quickly washed my face and the sleep off my eyes, then washed my body. I stepped out, shaking my head and doing a weird dance, a towel clad around my body.

When I placed the mirror, I froze, retracing any steps back. Maybe I wasn’t seeing too well. I stood in front of the mirror, my mouth opening in a

What the hell?

I stared down at my hand and body before Earing my reflection in the e mirror. Was I still dreaming? I shut my eyes closed for a second, opening them again.

I wasn’t dreaming: I was really green.

How did this happen? How did my skin turn green! From my face downward, all is green. I turned to the cabinet where I placed my shower gel and walked towards it. I opened the cap to stare inside it but didn’t see anything suspicious. How did this happen?

No one else came into my room except for Hayden. That monster was the only one who could do something like this. That must be the reason he was in my bathroom last night.

I walked out of the bathroom, put on a short and oversized tshirt, and walked out of the room and down the stairs.

Mom, momI screamed out to my mom, who came running out of the kitchen with a spectacle in her hand

When she saw me, she still burst out laughing like a freaking hyena.

Wow, mom, I feel the love.I sarcastically said, waiting for my mom to end her laugh.

She finally did; she had one look out at me and burst out laughing again. Her hand rested on the wall for support as she continued laughing.

She was not supposed to ask what happened, like other caring mothers do, but instead she stood laughing.

I heard little and heavy footsteps coming down the stairs, and I turned, and my dad and Asher came to view,

When they took in my appearance, Asher had a puzzled look, while my dad seemed to be struggling, trying not to laugh.

Bree, why is your skin green! You are like a green alien. Asher asked, and that was all it took for my dad to let out an uncontrollable laugh. Both mom, dad, and Asher stood there laughing like freaking clowns, used specifically for their amusement.

Yeah! Very funny

Cue the eye rolling

I get it! I look funny. Now can you guys quit laughing and help me come up with a solution to get this off my

My mom was finally able to control herself and was the first to respond to me, Hot why, honey, do you look so great! Like a green alien.” and that was how the laughter continued for some minutes. What happened, sweetie? How did it get so green?

I don’t know, mom, I went into the shower and came out like this. I was agitated. What if there isn’t any way to get rid of the colour off my skin! That means I would have green skin forever. A horrific look crossed my face, I knew I would be one hell of a sexy green human, but there was no way I planned on staying like this.

You better pray.

Hayden, because I

I plan on sending you back to where you came from. Hell,

I couldn’t care less about the deal, this was one of the reasons I didn’t want to get involved with Hayden, and one of the reasons why.

Chapter 14

Did you add something to your shower gel or did you touch something my mom questioned.

No, I didn’t; how can I get this off my skin?I asked worriedly.

I will ask you, Aunt Cassic, she is familiar with things like this.

“I guess you aren’t going to school. This time it was my dad who asked.

There was no way I would go to school looking like this, I wouldn’t be able to live this through. Even more so, since it is my last year in high school I refused to be remembered as the girl who turned green at one certain time.

“No, dad, I can’t. I will ask Maddie and Sofie to drop by later with today’s note.

OK sweetie. We need to get you something in your stomach, Asher, and then get you to school. I’m already running late for the restaurant My dad look Asher to the kitchen for breakfast, leaving me with my mom, who was on the phone with Aunt Cassie, my dad’s younger sister. She was a

I sat at the end of the stairs and watched my mom while she continued speaking with Aunt Cassie. I guess my mom, dad, and Asher weren’t the only ones who found it funny. I watched as my mom talked, laughing at whatever my aunt said.

My dad and Asher came rushing. My dad placed a kiss on my mom’s lips. Lifting Asher up so that he could kiss my mom goodbye, they waved me goodbye and raced out the door.

Your aunt Cassie said you need to bathe again, preferably not with the same thing you used. That should wash the colours off your skin.”

Do you think it would work?I wanted to make sure.

Yes. honey, now go shower. I need to go to work, so call me when it’s gone.” My mom was a florist. It’s not like she needed the money, because even though we weren’t freaking rich, we weren’t poor either.

My dad was more than capable of taking good care of us, but my mom didn’t want to be a stayathome kind of mom, and that didn’t stop her from doing her motherly duties.

I stood up from the stairs and went back up to my room, picking up my phone from the bedside where I had last dropped in. I took a picture of myself and sent it to the group chat for the girls to see, tagging it as sexy greeny, then closed my phone.

I heard the sound of the door closing and walked back downstairs tolock the door.

Yes, it was a safe neighbourhood, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need to be careful.

After going back to my room for the third time in just an hour, I discarded my clothes and walked into the bathroom for another shower. I made a mental note not to use my shower gel and walked to the other side of the bathroom, taking out a new one. It’s a good thing I bought this in bulk.

I stepped into the shower and watched the green wash off my body as 1 scrubbed my skin. I felt it was enough, and the green was out of my skin. I walked out clad in a bathrobe.

At the exact time, the doorbell rang

Did mom forget something!

I made sure the bathrobe was secured safely around my body and ran down the stairs.

I yanked the door open. Hey mam, did youI stopped, looking at the person standing on my front porch. Hayden, what are you doing here?she spit out angrily, glaring at him.

Won’t you let me in. A smirk grazed his devilish face. No

I guess I just have to invite myself in He pushed me aside, strolling in like he owned the place and taking a seat on the couch.

I closed the door, my list clenched, ready to punch him if you tried or said anything stupid. I must say, princess, you look ravishingA hungry, Justful look filled his eyes. His look down to my chest exposed a lot of cleavages

What are you doing here, Hayden?I asked louder in case he hadn’t heard me before.

You know why I am here, he replied calmly.

No, I dontOf cou

course I did, but not after what he did. Did you have to go that far with messing with my shower gel and turning me green?

What can I say, princess I live for fun. Too bad I wasn’t able to see how dreadful you looked, all covered in
