Chapter 51
11 was Sunday, in the middle of the afternoon. Sofie and I laid on her bed, both of us staring up at the ceiling
“Tim starving” I groaned, rolling over my stomach.
“Same here, it feels like I haven’t had breakfast this morning” Sofie says, rolling onto her growling e stomach as well.
“You are always hungry, Sofie, even if you ate thirty minutes ago, you would still be hungry! We both laughed, lying there looking at each other.
“That’s true,” she murmured, agreeing with me. “I don’t know if there is any food in the fridge; why don’t you go check!”
“I feel so lazy, beside its

house. Why
hy don’t you go
you go down and check?” I groan, laying on my back again.
feel so lazy too, it’s too much effort. She sits up from her bed. ‘Ill text Maddie to bring us a pizza on her way here.”
Maddie and Dylan finally had a talk yesterday. After we left Oliver and Solie yesterday, we had a girl talk along with Josephine, Oliver’s cousin. It did a lot of pep talk and a lot of convincing before Maddie could swallow the nerves she felt. Josephine and I decided to give her a little moral support, so when she drove to Dylan’s place, we waited in the car for her
The two had talked for quite some time, and when Maddie came out, she had a smile on her face. It was obvious things were finally okay between them, and I’m so happy for her,
“Okay, Maddie just texted back. She will be coming around, but a little bit late..” Sofie nods.
I nod and close my eyes, enjoying the feel of the softness of the mattress and bed beneath me. I felt the bed deep beside me, and my eyes slowly opened. Sofie was lying by her side, scrolling through her phone.
“I’m curious” I said as I rolled to my side, leaning my head against my hand. “What happened with Oliver and you yesterday! Any progress yet?”
What do you mean? Oliver and I are just friends” the replied, trying to look innocent, but her act didn’t fool. I mean, I have known her since preschool. There was no way she could fool me.
“Oh, please, you guys look like you were in some kind of trance outside the mall yesterday, and Oliver already made it clear that he likes y what is it? Why aren’t you making any effort?”
you so
“First of all, nothing of that kind happened yesterday, and secondly, I don’t know,” she paused. “I know about Oliver having feelings for me, he already confessed.”
“Then why aren’t you guys together? You like him; he likes you. So what is the problem?” I urge
“What’s this an interrogation!” She laughs guilidy
“Basically, now tell me what’s wrong demanded.
v mom
She sighed when she saw that I wasn’t going to give up. “I like him. I know I do, but I’m scared. What if the same thing that happened to my happens to me?” she whispered in a low tone. I wouldn’t have been able to hear if I wasn’t laying this close to her
“Oh, Sofie” She groans, covering her face with her hands,
“I know, I know. It isn’t certain yet. But you have seen the way my dad is, after my mom passed away, he is barely himself. I don’t want the same thing to happen to someone I love, just like how my dad is after losing my mom to cancer?
*Safe. What happened to your mom isn’t going to happen to you. You and Chris already got yourselves checked after she died, and you were cleared” I tried to soothe her nerves.
“I know, but like the doctor said, it can be hereditary. For Chris could have it in the future.” She fiddles with her finger, and a sad smile crosses her
face.
“My God! Soße. A familiar voice said, stepping into the room.
The two of us both sat up on the bed to see Maddie walk in with a box of pizzas. She placed it on the desk, then made her way to the bed. She dragged Sone in for a hug, patting her back softly before pulling away.
How did you get in?” Sofie asked, puzzled.
“If you can have a key to my place, why can’t I? Maddie answered, rolling her eyes. “Right now, that’s not what’s important. You can’t let fear ride your judgement; I know what happened so your mom must have hurt you a lot, Sote, and not just your father.” She says it softly,
“Mackle is right, Sofie. You are scared; it’s understandable. But would you go on living your life with the fear of the unknown! You aren’t your mom. and you have a great life in front of you. I know you don’t want anyone to go through what your dad went through after your mom’s death, but

Oliver really likes you a lot, and he isn’t your dad. Don’t take the right to choose from him; tell him the truth, and let him be the one to make the choice by himself, not you” I watched the tears fall from her eyes as she used her hands to wipe them off
Maddie pulled her in for another hug, and this time I joined. The three of us were locked in a group hug.
“Why didn’t you tell us earlier what was going on with you? 1 feel like Bree and I have been so selfish, coming with you with all our problems when you were going through something like this alone.” Maddie cried ou, and I nodded.
“You always try to solve whatever problems we have. We are best friends, Sofie, which means your problem is our problem as well. Never keep anything like this from us again.” I said it sternly, wiping away the tears that had escaped my ryes
“I won’t, I promise.” She laughed through the tears. “Thanks guys, what would I do without you?” We hugged again, smiling-
“Best friends forever” I say pulling away.
“Best friends forever” Maddie and Sotie said it at the same tinte. The three of us smiled amongst each other, falling back on the bed, hands in hands.
Hayden Pov.
I tried getting some sleep but couldn’t, and I kept tossing and turning on the bed. I turned on my phone to check the time and saw it was 1:00 am. in the morning 1 sighed in frustration, rubbing my hands through my face.
I miss Bree already, and it has only been a few hours.
I can’t take this anymore. I got out of bed, changing my clothes. I walked out of my room, making my way to the parking lot 1 took my key to my bike and timbed in. I put on my helmet, inserted the key, and then drove out of the mansion.
I parked three houses down from Bree’s, then walked over to her window. I climb up the tree, sneakily opening her window. I successfully entered the bedroom, and there should have been. My angel was lying on her bed with cover grazing her chin as she tightly held onto it.
She looked so small, wrapped up like a foetus. Her eyes were loosely closed, and her kissable lips were slightly open. I slowly approach her. admiring her features. I lay on the bed, tracing my fingers from her face to her lips. I removed my hund from her face, wrapping my arms around her waist and welcorning her warmth.
She shifted, and I noticed the change in her breath. Her breath is still, and slowly her eyes shut. When she noticed another presence on her bed, she jumped off the bed, holding her reading light in her arms as she frantically looked for the intruder. I watched in amusement when her eyes landed
on me and she appeared relaxed, dropping the reading lamp back on the table.
