Vicky's palms were covered in sweat, but she held her composure. "Edward, didn't you say that Tyler Hart was just toying with me? You said that people would just think that I'm seducing you even if they find out, right? What are you afraid of, then? Why bother hanging up the call?"

Despite what Edward had said, he would suffer if Vicky caused a scene as nothing was more threatening than scandals to public figures like him. Vicky was not an idol, and the scandal would not affect her no matter what happened.

Edward had only said what he said as an attempt, thinking that Vicky might accept his advances if she truly was the kind of woman everyone said she was.
