Chapter 401
Adina stared at him without a word.
She recalled what the man had said in the morning.
“I never want to compete against you for custody because you risked your life to give birth to the four children. If I take them away, it would be like killing you. Would I do such a vicious thing?
“I want the kids to be with the Winters family, and you want them to be with you. So if the two of us actually get together, won’t they also have a dad and a mom? “Adina, do you understand what I mean?” Adina’s heart fluttered slightly. She pursed her lips, pushed open the door, and got out. “It’s only been a day. How do you expect me to think about it?” she said indifferently. Duke stared at her quietly. “Okay, you can take your time to think about it.”
He pulled open the door to the backseat before he carried Melody. “Did you miss Daddy?” Melody hugged his neck bashfully and spoke in a low voice. “Yes.”
“Mel, come down,” Adina said calmly. “Your dad’s injury on his right hand hasn’t healed yet. Don’t move around on his body and aggravate it.”
As she spoke, she took Melody from Duke and carried her.
Duke looked at her by his side and suddenly felt peace. Before the group of four could walk to the door, Harold rushed out like a happy frog.
Even George, who would usually not be at home, also walked out. He stood in front of Adina, pursed his lips, and shyly called her “Mom.”
Mr. Brown was standing at the door. When he witnessed the scene, he smiled so brightly that his face became even more wrinkled.
All these years, he had never seen Young Master George so happy. He truly hoped that Ms. Adina Daugherty would marry his master as soon as possible. After the children entered the mansion, they headed to the climbing mat and played with the toys. Adina put on an apron and personally cooked for the children.
