Chapter 997
After Adeena finished her breakfast, she returned to the Willis family with Ruth.
On the way, Ruth kept muttering, “I didn‘t expect Mr. Winters to actually be interested in you. Don‘t I just look slightly less attractive than you? Why didn‘t he even look at me?”
Adeena glanced at her indifferently. “If this is really love at first sight for you, I‘ll arrange a few meetings with him for you.”
She had lived with Ruth for three years, so she knew that her sister was stupid and witless.
Ruth was slightly unpleasant, but she was not terribly wicked.
If Ruth truly liked Duke, Adeena was willing to create some opportunities for them. Obviously, it was mainly because she wanted to get out of the situation.
“Forget it.” Ruth pouted. “I don‘t want a man who‘s divorced and has kids!”
The man was basically too cold. If she got together with him, she was afraid that she would be frozen to death. While she was materialistic , she did not want to live the rest of her life in grievance!
The two of them chatted all the way back to the Willis family‘s mansion. Right after they got out of the car, Clarence, who had been arrested yesterday, came forward. “How did it go? Did Mr. Winters trouble you?”
“Uncle Clarence , did you suffer in jail?” Adeena asked.“ Did they just release you?” “They didn‘t trouble me. Instead, they apologized to me.” Clarence frowned. “Mr. Winters‘ assistant personally went to pick me up. He even said that it was a misunderstanding. To make it up to the Willis family, Winters Corporation is willing to collaborate with the Willis family on a project in Sea City.”
“Is this a new trap?” Mdm. Willis said in a deep voice.
The previous incident terrified everyone in the Willis family, and they dared not feel optimistic about this.
Kendry shook his head. “If Winters Corporation really wants to deal with the Willis family, why would they resort to such trouble again?”
He raised his head and looked at Adeena. “Did Mr. Winters say anything when you went there today?”
