He gently held Madeline’s hand; his deep and alluring eyes were guilt-ridden.
“ If I had remained vigilant at that time, then this horrible thing wouldn’t have happened, ” Jeremy said guiltily. “When Hannah caused a scene the other day, her actions caused ripples that affected the shares of Whitman Corporation and Montgomery Enterprise.
“If she continues to make trouble, Linnie, your projects and orders on hand will be terminated because of her.
“Right now, you have to suffer this grievance. It’s the only way.”
Listening to Jeremy slowly apologizing to her, Madeline smiled magnanimously.
“I was the one who came up with this, so I don’t feel wronged. We must prioritize this. Besides, I don’t think Hannah can impact our relationship in any way. On the contrary, I don’t think she deserves any sympathy.”
Madeline’s eyes revealed a rare icy but beautiful glint.
“ She had feelings about you from the beginning. And she’s not a good person, through and through. She can’t say anything about us fooling her like this now.”
Having said that, Madeline sighed a little apologetically.
“On the other hand, Mom misunderstands us. She ran to the house of the maternal side of my family in a fit of rage.”
Jeremy smiled when he heard that. “It’s been so long, yet she still doesn’t understand our characters. We finally made it to this day, so why would we break up our relationship to fulfill the wishes of a vicious person?”
“She’ll understand sooner or later.” Just as Madeline finished speaking, a notification sound came from her phone.
She glanced down, and her eyes narrowed. “How interesting.”
“What’s wrong?” Jeremy asked, concerned.
Made line smiled and handed her phone to him. “ Look.”
Jeremy also lowered his head. When he saw the image on the screen, he displayed an opposite expression with Madeline.
