It was a document, so Jeremy thought it was from his company or something, but after opening it, he found that it was not a document, nor was it anything of the sort.
There was an envelope inside. Jeremy looked at it suspiciously for a while before opening the envelope.
However, when he opened it, his eyes sank when he saw the contents inside.
There was nothing in it except for a photo of Madeline. In this photo, Madeline was standing downstairs in Whitman Corporation. She seemed to be waiting for someone with a slight smile on her face.
This was a very normal photo, but Jeremy felt uncomfortable looking at it.
It was because there was a big cross on Madeline’s face in the photo.
To avoid letting Madeline find out, Jeremy quickly put the photo away and pretended to walk aside to make a call as if nothing happened.
He called Ken, and after the call had connected, he told Ken the tracking number of the courier and asked Ken to check the source of it.
After Jeremy was done giving him the order, Jeremy hung up the phone and turned around, only to see Madeline standing behind him.
“Linnie?“ He was taken aback, and he looked behind Madeline, slightly astonished. “Where’s Mom?
Weren’t you guys chatting just now?“
Madeline smiled. “Mom and Jack went to play with Pudding. How about you? Is there anything wrong with that courier?“
“…“ Jeremy had not expected Madeline to be so direct, so he was slightly stunned. “Linnie, you… “
“Even though I was talking to mom just now, I spotted you. So, what’s in that courier? Why do you need to walk away to make that call?“
Looking at Madeline, who was looking at him with a slight smile, Jeremy suddenly felt frustrated. What else could he hide from her?
Jeremy did not intend to hide anymore. As such. he handed the document to Madeline.
