Madeline decided to take a look at how Hannah was doing, and Jeremy naturally followed her.
Hannah was sitting on the sofa now and she looked very confused.
As soon as she saw Madeline, she suddenly got up and ran over. She then grabbed Madeline’s arm in shock and hugged her tightly.
“Sis, where is this? Why am I here?“
Sis?
The way Hannah addressed Madeline surprised her. Hannah grabbed Madeline’s arm even tighter.
“Sis, I ‘m so scared. So many people want to scold me and beat me. I’m really scared…“
Hannah’s expression seemed to become more panicked as she tightly held Madeline’s arm, refusing to let go.
Madeline looked at Jeremy suspiciously and then at Hannah.
“Hannah, look closely. I’m not your sister.“
When Hannah heard this, she suddenly raised her head and stared at Madeline’s face seriously for a while.
“Why would you not be my sister? We grew up together. I know. It must be because Mom and Dad have always loved me more since we were children
and neglected you, so now that I’m in trouble, you don’t want to care about me anymore, right?“
Judging from what Hannah said, she seemed to believe that Madeline was her sister.
However, Madeline did not know about Hannah’s family, nor whether she really had an elder sister. Even so, it seemed that Hannah thought Madeline was her elder sister now.
When Jeremy saw that Hannah was holding Madeline’s arm and refusing to let go, he stepped forward decisively and pushed Hannah’s hand away. Then, he pulled Madeline into his arms to protect her.
