Even though she had a million guesses in her head before this, she would never have thought that Maisie and Tom were siblings.
Laura was struck dumb.
However, more than anything else, there was envy and jealousy in her eyes. She was so jealous! Maisie was Tom’s little sister.
Bill, who was cowering in a corner, was also shocked t o the core.
He thought he had found out about Tom and Maisie’s improper relationship but he did not expect that they were family! They were siblings! Just now, the police also said that they wanted to look into Laura because one of the cases she was involved i n was the embezzlement of public funds.
Bill was also involved in this, so he could not run from this now.
Laura was brought away by the police soon after, while Tom and his mother also followed the police back to the station to help with the investigation.
When they left, Tom turned around to call out to Bill, whose face was turning pale.
Bill’s body turned cold as he knew he was finished.
Maisie watched as Laura was brought away.
Finally, she let out along sigh of relief.
"That felt good!"
After she said that, she stopped smiling and walked to Ava’s side with a sincere and apologetic look.
"Ava, you won’t blame me for lying to you, right?"
Ava came back to her senses.
"Of course not."
When Maisie got this answer, she smiled.
"Ava, I’m s o thankful that you hired me back then.Otherwise, Tom would’ve made fun of me for being a child who could never grow up."
"Maisie, ah, I’m sorry, Miss Lowe, I really didn’t expect you to be Mr.Lowe’s sister."
"Miss Lowe, I hope you’ll forgive us if we did anything to offend you back then."
"Yeah, we didn’t know you were Mr.Lowe’s sister. If we did, we wouldn’t have said all that nonsense."
