Hackett let out a disdainful sneer. “Do you think that I ordered Keith’s parents to say those harsh words?” 

Valeria had nothing to say. Keith’s parents‘ words made it clear that they looked down on her and felt that she was not worthy of their son. 

It seemed even if Hackett did not make a scene tonight, this meal would still end on bad terms. 

Keith’s parents were not here to eat with her, but to pose a threat in order to scare her off. 

“Take me home.” 

Valeria opened the door on the passenger side and got in. Alex looked up and saw her. 

“Mommy, why are you so late? Hackett and I have been waiting for a long time.”

rent.”
