The old lady wears jewelry when she feels like it and doesn’t when she doesn’t. She has her own collection, and her mother-in-law has given her many pieces. She’s not lacking in jewelry. She especially loves jade and has many precious jade pieces in her collection.
After marrying off three daughters-in-law, she gave some jewelry to them. When her nine granddaughters-in-law married into the family, she also gave them some. She kept a few pieces aside, hoping to one day pass them on to a great-granddaughter.
If she ever has a great-granddaughter, all the jewelry she saved will go to her as part of her dowry.
Yes, she’s a very happy old lady.
“Mom, look who’s here,” Tania said cheerfully.
The old lady pretended to be upset and said, “If your husband doesn’t give me back my ID card, it doesn’t matter who’s here. I won’t be happy. I’m old and my son controls me. I can’t do anything freely. Tonight, I’ll climb up and scold my son.”
Bianca was speechless.
She wanted to laugh, but could she?
She had heard the old lady sigh from the doorway and had naturally overheard the conversation between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
Grandma York was truly a lively character—playful like a child, yet also the most open-minded and considerate person.
With her leading the York family, there was no need to worry, even if the sky were falling.
She raised her children and grandchildren well. The daughters-in-law and granddaughters-in-law she brought into the family were all of excellent character.
God had blessed the York family, but it was also the virtue of their ancestors that brought harmony to the family.
Good men are born in the York family, and good women marry into it, thanks to their strong values.
The old lady is truly remarkable.
Bianca thought that although she had never met Grandma York before, Grandma York had chosen her. “Auntie, I want to laugh so badly, I can’t hold it in.”
Tania smiled, “Go ahead and laugh. Don’t hold back. Your Grandma York is just like that.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Married at First Sight (Serenity and Zachary)
Please use the English names as it is difficult to read and connect....
I am very greatful of your hard work in translating the novel in English, is there any chance you could use the character’s name in English please, it’s hard to follow the story with Chinese names. Thanks...
Please use correct names and watch the repeating of pages....
Thank you for the story, its going on well, however the changing of names somehow makes it difficult to follow. Even learning the new ones that you have tried to match, it is extremely difficult to follow and enjoy the drama while trying to go back to rechecking who we are talking about. The title is still Married at first sight (Serenity and Zachary) but they no longer exist in the whole picture. You created a dynamic community which I am sure everyone felt they lived and travelled with. We appreciate all the effort and your insight. I am very grateful for this novel is very captivating....
Please continue using Zachary,. Serenity,Duncan, Liberty etc . You jumped 30 updates and changed names where I'm unable to follow the story and losing interest. This is a great disservice to your loyal readers....
Changing names ruins the whole story. Whoever heard of such a thing....
Please use the old names, the new names are too confusing...
