Married at First Sight (Serenity and Zachary) novel Chapter 4472

Married at First Sight [On

Chapter 4472.
Romina said, “I’ve got to head back to the office.”.
River didn’t stop her. He just watched her leave.
Serenity and her son also watched as Romina’s figure disappeared into the distance.
“River,” Serenity teased, “stop staring. She’s long gone—you won’t see her now.”.
River snapped out of it and cleared his throat. When he noticed he’d finished all his snacks, he said, “Sister-in-law, I’ll take you to my place. You can send the location to the bodyguards—they can take a cab straight to the house. Or, if you’d rather, we can check into a hotel.”.
Serenity felt that staying in River’s house might disturb him. The kids could be loud, and besides, he wasn’t married.
River said, “If you and the kids go to a hotel, I’ll be doomed. Grandma, my parents, and my oldest brother will kill me if they find out. I’ve got a big villa here. Usually, it’s just me and a few workers—it’s too empty. It needs some life. You and the kids should stay. I’m usually busy and sleep at the office. When I do come home, it’s only for a night. There are plenty of rooms for the bodyguards and a nanny. I’ll have the butler take care of it.”.
His sister-in-law and her kids had come all this way. If they didn’t stay with him, his brother would blow a fuse—even if the hotel was five-star.
River was so insistent that Serenity couldn’t say no.
Once River paid the bill, she took her son and left with him. Belle automatically reached out and let her Uncle River carry her.
She hadn’t seen him in a while, and now that she had, she wanted to cling to him.
Romina returned to Lafond Group.
As soon as she stepped in, everyone noticed something was off. Vice President Lafond looked upset—face cold, expression tight.
Though everyone greeted her, they did so cautiously, afraid of becoming her next target.
Normally, Vice President Lafond was calm, polite, and easy to talk to. But when she got serious, she could be downright terrifying.
She rarely lost her temper, but today… it was clear something had set her off.
The Lafond Group was one of the biggest in Eaglioncile. The Lafonds were among the city’s wealthiest families.
Romina was the eldest daughter of the family, and no one dared provoke her.
Well, except one person—River York, President of Yantail Company.
Yantail kept expanding into industries that overlapped with Lafond Group. The two companies were fierce rivals—locked in open and hidden battles.
Years ago, Yantail was nearly bankrupt under Lafond Group’s pressure.
Their employees hadn’t been paid in months, waiting for the company to collapse so the government would step in and pay the wages. Then, the company brought in a professional manager.
That person was River.
He came from Wiltspoon, with a background no one knew much about.
But once River took charge, he turned things around. In just three years, he pulled Yantail out of the red. Two years after that, it had become one of the city’s strongest companies.
