Married at First Sight (Serenity and Zachary) novel Chapter 4474

Married at First Sight [On

Chapter 4474.
He wanted her to buy him dinner? Did he really have the guts to show up and eat?
Wasn’t he afraid she’d slip something into the food?
Romina fired off a reply without hesitation:.
“You said I helped you apply a face mask and reduced the swelling. When I left, it was barely noticeable unless someone looked closely. You also let me go, and now you’re making new demands. River, are you trying to blackmail me? I’m telling you now—I won’t be threatened. If you think you have a case, go to the police. I’m not scared.”.
His face was hardly swollen anymore. Even if he reported it, the doctors would find nothing.
River messaged again.
“If you don’t treat me to dinner, I’ll sit in your office all day tomorrow. Anyone who comes to do business with you—I’ll drive them away. I’ll annoy you to death.”.
Romina was so mad she laughed.
“River, when did you become this shameless? Fine, come if you want. You think I’m scared of you showing up outside my office?”.
He was supposed to take his sister-in-law and their kids out tomorrow. Did he really have time to stalk her office?
Even if she sat there all day waiting, she wasn’t going to invite him to dinner.

If he had the nerve, he could camp out in her office every day—let’s see how long his company lasted.
River replied:.
“I’ll go to Chairman Lafond and tell him you took advantage of me. I’ll demand you take responsibility.”.
Romina: “… River, when did I ever take advantage of you?”.
She was too annoyed to keep texting, so she called him.
He didn’t pick up.
After a while, he called her back.
He’d just gotten home after taking his sister-in-law and the kids to his big villa. Now that he was away from them, it was easier to call—he didn’t want his sister-in-law eavesdropping on any juicy gossip.
She’d claimed she was just traveling with the kids, but really, she was there on behalf of their grandma and parents—to pressure River into settling down.
All the brothers respected their sister-in-law and took her advice seriously.
She had a good impression of Romina, and River figured if she overheard too much, she might start thinking he and Romina were actually a couple.
Romina answered the call.
“Mr. York, explain yourself. When exactly did I take advantage of you? Don’t try to twist things around just to make me look bad. I can’t believe someone who seems so put-together can be such a scoundrel.”.
River replied, “You touched my face. Your palm smacked me so hard it left me swollen. Isn’t that taking advantage?”.
Romina: “…”.

She hit him, for crying out loud!
This man was so shameless, it was unreal.
He was clearly making excuses to squeeze compensation out of her—just trying to push her buttons.
River added, “If Chairman Lafond found out his favorite granddaughter was this violent, you think he’d still be proud?”.
Romina said, “My grandfather wouldn’t be disappointed—he’d just feel bad for me. He’d say my hand must’ve hurt from slapping you.”.
River: “…”.
Romina continued, “River, what happened today—I admit I was wrong. I sincerely apologize. I’ll have someone send you a gift tomorrow as compensation. But I was really angry when I hit you. You can’t blame me entirely. I was about to sign a big contract and you cut in and snatched it away. Does your sister-in-law know how shameless you are? Isn’t she like a mother to you? You respect her so much—what would she think if she knew the kind of man you really are? Be careful, she might give you a beating herself.”.
Even though it was her first time meeting Serenity, Romina could tell River had deep respect for his sister-in-law.
