Married by Mistake: Mr. Whitman’s Sinner Wife novel Chapter 1524

Chapter 1524

“It feels like a waste if I don’t hire you as my secretary,” Jeremy said as if he was feeling rueful. Suddenly, he walked over to Madeline and said, “Do you want to be my secretary? The kind who’s always around me no matter the time and place?”

“…”

Madeline felt as if she had never seen Jeremy like this before. He was saying this in such a serious manner and yet there was a frivolous smirk on his handsome face.

This should not be the expression he should have.

Madeline had nothing to say to that. However, Jeremy took one step closer to her.

His body towered over hers, and his aura that was like a shadow quickly enveloped Madeline.

Madeline sensed that something was amiss with Jeremy. She took a step back, but Jeremy suddenly grabbed her wrist.

“Are you declining my invitation?” There was a smile on his lips, and beneath his bottomless eyes, there was an unclear sense of sentiment.

Madeline tried to control herself and pretended to be calm. “Mr. Whitman, you’re different from usual.”

“You can even sense that I’m different from usual. You pay a lot of attention to me indeed.”

“…”

Madeline felt as if she had fallen into some sort of trap after she heard that. However, Madeline’s reaction was quick. She was lucky that she was wearing a mask right now, so at least Jeremy could not see the changes in her expression.

Madeline smiled softly, and her eyes looked calm.

“I’m not paying a lot of attention to you, Mr. Whitman. I mean, everyone out there knows you love your wife. In order to please your wife, you don’t even have a lot of contact with the opposite gender. If that’s the case, why would you want to hire a woman like me to stay by your side to be your secretary? Have you not considered Mrs. Whitman’s feelings?”

“I have, so that’s why I made this decision.”

Jeremy said, suddenly grabbing Madeline’s wrist to pull her in front of him.”

“Including what happened between us last night, it’s all done with the consideration of the woman I love the most.”
