Madeline stood up and reached out to Hannah.
“Get up.”
After hearing Madeline’s urging, Hannah lifted her head and she dazedly stared at Madeline’s palm outstretched in front of her.
How could this be?
Was this not her hallucination?
“Even if we can’t be friends, we don’t have to be enemies, right?”
Madeline asked with a generous smile, and her palm moved closer to Hannah.
Hannah felt more ashamed in her heart when she saw Madeline’s warm smile.
“I’m sorry.”
Finally, those two words came out of Hannah’s mouth.
She did not have the slightest perfunctory or hypocrisy. This apology was entirely sincere.
Madeline curled her lips into a smile. “I accept your apology.”
As she said that, she shook her hand lightly.
Hannah instantly understood Madeline’s meaning, and she finally reached out her hand to gently hold Madeline’s hand.
At that moment, she felt her palm turning warm in the cold winter wind.
This warm touch slowly reached all the way to her heart.
