Chapter 145 Treating Her as a Daughter

As she expected, Henry did not sign the equity return certificate but instead put it aside.

He then scrutinized her with a particularly complex gaze.

Stella had no idea what he was going to say or do next, feeling uncertain.

The atmosphere fell into an awkward silence. After a while, Henry looked up, his voice slightly hoarse as he asked, "Are you so eager to immediately distance yourself from me?"

Stella pursed her lips and remained silent.

"Has your mother been discharged from the hospital?" Henry's gaze became sharp. "Did she tell you all this?"

"No." Stella said softly, "I found out by chance that we are not related by blood."

"So, I came here today to return all of this to you..."

Her palms were sweating as she quietly assessed Henry's expression.

Henry straightened his posture and asked, "Why would you do this?"

"Because my surname is not Taylor," she replied. "These things should not belong to me."

"Stella, for so many years, you called me 'Dad', and I have long regarded you as my daughter."

Oh really? Stella sneered inwardly.

"I must give Stella the shares!" Henry spoke sharply, "If you can't accept it, get out of the Taylor Group!"

Amelia froze. Her mind went blank, and she was so mad that she trembled in place.

In a short while, she ran out and slammed the door loudly.
