He gave Daniel a significant pat on the shoulder. “Now that you’re here, I can finally relax. You two can take your time to chat. I’ll step out.”
As if harboring lingering concerns, he emphasized, “Vivian might come across as proud and distant, but you’re the only one she truly cares for. You must treat her well.”
