Since she had nothing to say, Kennedy thought that he wouldn’t ask more questions.
Kennedy moved the wheelchair by himself and went out, leaving only her in the room. Charlotte, who was stunned, leaned back, lay on the bed, and stared at the ceiling in front of her blankly.
Although she had tried hard to comfort herself that these things had nothing to do with her and that she had to be at peace. However, in her heart, she couldn't stop feeling sad.
As she closed her eyes, the scene when two of them were together was all over her mind.
Ever since that day, Diana started to lose contact with Charlotte. Neither did Charlotte, who hadn’t figured the matter out, intend to take the initiative to contact her. As usual, she began to work after the sunrise and rest after the sunset every day, pretending that nothing happened.
However, Kennedy was different. Since Diana revealed the matter in front of him, he, who began to be suspicious, asked Nathan to investigate it.
After Nathan heard this piece of news, he was a little surprised, saying, "Mr. Kennedy, are you thinking that Diana..."
"She surely has something to do with this matter. Regarding who the woman relied on her to find clues that night was, you should understand what I am implying."
Hearing this, Nathan finally nodded in understanding, "But she is a lady from the Nelson family. I'm afraid that..."
"GO ahead and do it. You can turn to tough tactics if it is necessary."
"Got it, Mr. Kennedy, I'm going to do it."
As Nathan went out, he happened to meet up with Charlotte who came in to serve coffee. Seeing Charlotte's expressionless look, Nathan suddenly thought of something as he shook his head, sighed, and went out.
It had been so long. Nathan hadn’t found that woman as Kennedy’s instruction yet. Originally, he thought this matter probably would end perfunctorily. However, he didn’t expect that clues would suddenly appear.
In Nathan’s opinion, Mr. Kennedy was so concerned about the woman that night. In that case, if he indeed found the woman in success, he wondered what kind of position Mrs. Moore should be put in.
Suddenly, Nathan felt some distress for Charlotte.
Charlotte silently put the coffee on the table, turned around, and went out again.
Kennedy glanced at her and remained silent.
Over lunch at noon, the canteen was noisy and lively. If it were on usual days, Charlotte wouldn’t have cared about this kind of matter. However, as soon as she walked into the canteen today, countless people were staring at her face. And some even stared at her with contempt and despise in their eyes, which Charlotte found baffling.
So she nudged Yanis beside her, "Don’t you feel that everyone is looking at me strangely today?"
Hearing this, Yanis looked around and nodded, "I feel so as well. They seem to despise you so much. Did you do something wrong again?"
Charlotte had a somewhat confusing look in her eyes, "What did I do?"
"Then let's eat first. I'll ask them about the reason for you after lunch"
Yanis pulled her to a corner and sat down. As soon as they sat down, they heard the ones at the next table discussing.
"How dare she come here? How dare she show up here after she did such a scandalous deed? She is indeed so cheeky and shameless.”
“Scandal?”
Charlotte frowned slightly.
"Stop judging her. She surely won’t care about her dignity anymore. She even slept with Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Manfred. Based on the way how they treat her, she surely has made a lot of dirty tricks in bed, right? It is a pity that two men have been transferred because of her. It is a pity that she isn’t satisfied with the two men of the Moore family and that she seduced a married man. Only the nasty people can do such a nasty thing."
