But looking around, she didn't find Kennedy on the stage. Charlotte felt flustered.
Nathan was here, but Kennedy was not. What was going on?
Was Nathan going to take her to Kennedy?
"Where are you taking me to, Nathan? Where is Kennedy?"
Nathan did not speak, but directly pulled her to the backstage.
"Mrs. Moore, Why are you here so late?"
Charlotte said, "I got an accident, so I'm late. He..."
"Mrs. Moore. Mr. Kennedy has been waiting for you all night!"
Had he? Charlotte turned pale on face and felt sorry. "I'm sorry, I didn't know..."
She looked sad. Nathan said, "You are finally here, but it is too late."
"Too late? What do you mean?" Charlotte was confused.
Nathan said, “Mr. Kennedy left five minutes ago."
What? She was here and he had gone? Charlotte's face turned pale. "I was stopped outside five minutes ago. I don't have an invitation, so I could not get in.”
"I know you have no invitation, so I wait at the door, but you did not come at the end of the party. I thought you would not come, so I came in. Now Mr. Kennedy has left."
Charlotte did not know what to say, after all, she did not appear in time. She could not blame anyone.
"He may not have felt. Will you take me to him?"
Nathan thought and nodded, “Come with me."
So Nathan took her walk through the corridor, Charlotte endured discomfort and followed him, wishing to see Kennedy at this moment.
Nathan took her to turn a corner and then opened a room. But Kennedy was not there.
"It seems that Mr. Kennedy has left!"
Charlotte bit her lower lip looking at the empty room. "Is he going to the parking lot? Take me to the parking lot."
"All right, hurry up!”
Nathan took Charlotte to the direction of the parking lot, after all, as long as there was a chance, he would try to take Charlotte to Kennedy. Kennedy’s expression and breath was wrong tonight. If Mrs. Moore did not appear in front of him, he felt there was ominous presentiment.
As the reached the parking lot, they saw a car driving out. When Nathan was still in a daze, Charlotte chased after that car.
"What's the matter, Mrs. Moore?”
After asking, Nathan noticed that was Kennedy’s car. His face changed and he ran after it, shouting, “Mr. Kennedy!"
But the car was fast and far, so they did not catch up.
There seemed to be a thousand ants biting Charlotte’s heart, so she had been struggling to run forward, hoping to catch up with Kennedy’s car, hoping that Kennedy could stop the car.
But the car was moving away from her until she could barely catch sight of it.
"Ah!"
